Company Information...
Hero Certified Burgers is a quick service restaurant franchise chain that operates in Canada, with locations concentrated in Southern Ontario. The chain was founded in 2004 by John Lettieri, who opened the first store in Hazelton Lanes in Yorkville, Ontario. Lettieri also owns the restaurant chain Lettieri café, based in Toronto. The company was the first Canadian franchise to focus on the provision of fast foods using food products from vendors that adhere to sustainable practices.
The chain has over 55 locations in Ontario, as well as an upcoming location in Buffalo, New York. Hero Certified Burgers are partners of Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment, and the official burger of the Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Raptors, and Toronto Marlies.
Fare
Fare includes hamburgers and veggie burgers, poultry and wild Alaskan salmon sandwiches, poutine, Ontario-grown greenhouse tomatoes and gluten-free food options. The company uses french fries, but offers real cheese, such as gorgonzola, smoked provolone and brie.
Many Hero Certified Burgers locations have Coca-Cola Freestyle machines as well.
Environmental stewardship
Hero Certified Burgers uses 100% Heritage Angus Beef, which adheres to sustainable agriculture practices. The beef contains no preservatives or additives, cattle are raised in a free range environment and are grass-fed, and no antibiotics or growth hormones are used. The beef is seasoned during its preparation in restaurants. In 2012, Heritage Angus ranchers won the 2012 Canadian National Environmental Stewardship Award (TESA), a national award that recognizes excellence and sustainable management and conservation practices.
Hero Certified Burgers was the first Canadian chain to use a new type of packaging for all of their products that is produced from 100% post-industrial/post-consumer recycled paper, and uses 35% to 70% less paper per piece than traditional forms of fast food packaging. The packaging, created by GreenDustries, won a Foodservice Packaging Institute award in 2010.

Canada v. USA World Cup Qualifier 1 November 1980
Perhaps the earliest complete footage available of both teams, this video finds the United States travelling to Vancouver, British Columbia to meet Canada in a qualifier for the 1982 World Cup.
While hard to envision today, Canada had the far-better program in the early 1980s, largely as a result of Canadian NASL teams actually playing natives. Canada would eventually qualify for the 1986 World Cup finals in Mexico.
Before this match, Canada was on an impressive run of form. On October 18, the side drew Mexico 1-1 in Toronto, then had a scoreless draw against the US in Ft. Lauderdale a week later. Fifteen days after this match, Canada would again draw Mexico, 1-1, this time in El Azteca.
The US was not faring as well. Its next qualifier (8 days after this one) was a 5-1 drubbing at the hands of Mexico at El Azteca. The Americans did recover to stun Mexico in Ft. Lauderdale on November 23, winning 2-1 behind a Steve Moyers brace.
In this match, Canada were by far the better team--even playing on the awful Astroturf at old Empire Stadium. 13,598 fans were on hand to watch the home side cruise to a 2-1 result behind goals from Bob Iarusci and Branko Segota; Greg Villa scored a stoppage time goal for the US.
Neither team qualified for the 1982 World Cup.
The lineups:
CANADA Lettieri; Bob Lenarduzzi; Mike Stojanovic; Gene Streincer (Carmine Marcantonio 15'); Wes McLeod; Gerry Gray; Bob Bolitho (Mike Sweeney 46'); John McGrane; Branko Segota; Bruce Miller; Robert Iarusci
USA: Arnie Mausser; Tony Crudo; Ty Keough; Steve Pecher; Greg Makowski; Boris Bandov; Ringo Cantillo; Angelo di Bernardo; Njego Pesa (Greg Villa 66'); Rick Davis; Mark Liveric (Steve Moyers 76')
Credit for finding this video goes to Dave Brett Wasser; it was previously posted on his page, but in four parts. It has been combined here, and has been cropped and edited (removing halftime commercials).

Impromptu Accordion Mini-Tutorial with Joseph Macerollo - in UHD 4K
You’ll enjoy this laid-back, entertaining selection of philosophy and playing techniques for the advanced accordionist, presented by Joseph Macerollo . . . (more)
At the intermission of one of his intimate concerts with GitBaAc (named for Guitar, Bass and Accordion), Joseph took the opportunity to hold this casual little tutorial, while band mates Lew Mele and Bill Bridges took a break.
Quickly (but not quick enough) we changed lenses from trio to solo composition: you’ll see that there’s a bit less than a minute of audio-only at the beginning of the video.
- - -
“I walk onto the concert stage holding an Accordion:
Strike one against me.
For over an hour I perform contemporary works:
Strike two against me.
Time and time again I face this challenge with fierce
determination, seeking at least a base hit each time.”
ACCORDIONISTS, in all likelihood, do not suffer from persecution complexes more than any other group of normal citizens, but every now and then, when you hear one of them wondering in bewilderment why the accordion has not shaken its image as a cornball instrument, in the other-wise chic world of modern keyboards, you sense the frustration that many of this lot must occasionally feel, along with the humor that helps them cope with the situation.
Take Joseph Macerollo, one of the most respected figures in the progressive fringe of the accordion community. On the liner notes to his album Interaccodinotesta, this internationally-acclaimed artist, this veteran of recitals and performances with a long list of contemporary chamber ensembles, was moved to write the lines that hang like a despairing cloud above. Seldom has a baseball metaphor been given such a glum application…

lnteraccodinotesta (performing Pentland’s Interplay for accordion and string quartet, with the Purcell String Quartet, Shafer’s La Testa d’Adriane with soprano Mary Morrison, Krenek’s Acco-Music, and Nordheim’s Dinosaurus for accordion and tape), Melbourne, SMLP 4034.
Joe Macerollo, Free-Bass Accordion (performing Surdin’s Serious I, II, & V, movements from Wuensch’s Mini-Suites, Dolin’s Sonata, and Fiala’s Sinfonietta Concertata for accordion, harpsichord, and string orchestra, with the McGill Chamber Orchestra), Radio Canada International, RCI-385.
Shafer-Loving/Toi (an audio-visual tone poem for soprano, three mezzo-sopranos, two or three speakers, dancers, chamber orchestra, tape, and accordion), Melbourne, SMLP 4035-6.
Joseph is the Recipient Of “Lifetime Achievement Award” from the Toronto Musicians’ Association. He continues to break new ground with the accordion, and travels widely to perform and to present Master Classes.
Lew Mele on bass, and Bill Bridges on guitar, and Joseph on accordion, comprise the genre-defying trio GitBaAc. Please subscribe to our channel to hear more of their work together, as we release additional live performance films.

Gypsies enjoying Russian gypsy music at Prague main Railway Station!
Pianos around the world: Praha Hlavni Nadrazi (Prague Main Railway Station)
Playing Czardas, Dve Gitari by ear while Soviet style master pianist is watching! You can tell European gypsies(Romanis) were really enjoying it, after all, this is a Gypsy tune!
Sorry about the damaged piano...(You may watch a better version on a much better tuned piano in Downtown Toronto on my Channel !)
Charles Aznavour, may you rest in peace!
I like to dedicate this video to one of the most amazing artists of all time who made this Russian Gypsy melody famous : Charles Aznavour .This piece of music is a haunting Russian gypsy melody that dates back to several centuries...it is been said that the Beatles hit: And I love her who they took from a Cuban song which in turn they took from this piece copied this masterpiece especially the harmony... also the late great Canadian musician Leonard Cohen hit Dance Me To The End Of Love was very much influenced by this Russian folklore both in melody and the unmistakable Russian gypsy polka rhythm. Not to mention the greatest French Armenian legend Charles Aznavour that made this music so popular....so enjoy!

I wanted to put together a special kind of experience as a last goodbye to How Long, before I move towards putting out new music. I invited only 25 guests, made up of family, friends, to join me in Winnipeg, in a space that’s very near and dear to me; Stereobus Recording. It’s the place I spent the majority of the 90’s, growing up watching my parents record all of their own albums, and nearly two decades later, recording my own.
I wanted to show these songs in their rawest and most evolved form, in a place that could only be described as Familiar Ground.
