MUST VISIT CALGARY DOWNTOWN 8 Avenue Walk
Calgary is a city in the Canadian province of Alberta. It is situated at the confluence of the Bow River and the Elbow River in the south of the province, in an area of foothills and prairie, about 80 km (50 mi) east of the front ranges of the Canadian Rockies. The city anchors the south end of what Statistics Canada defines as the Calgary–Edmonton Corridor.
In 1988, Calgary became the first Canadian city to host the Winter Olympic Games.

Canada - June 2019
My fiance and I took the trip of our lifetime! We flew into Vancouver for a few days where we visited Granville Island, the Capilano Suspension Bridge, the Richmond Night Market, Chinatown, and multiple breweries and eateries.
We then rented a car and drove to Jasper National Park to see Maligne Lake, Spirit Island, Medicine Lake, lots of wildlife, and hike Maligne Canyon.
From Jasper, we drove along the Icefields Parkway to Banff. This drive was the most amazing drive we have ever taken, slightly beating out the Ring of Kerry in Ireland! We must've stopped about 15 times during our drive and turned a 3 hour drive into 5-6 hours! Some highlights for that stop including Peyto Lake, Weeping Walls, Athabasca Falls, Helen Lake, Herbert Lake, and Mistaya Canyon!
In Banff, we went to Lake Louise and hiked up to the Tea house, hiked Lake Moraine, swam in the upper banff hot springs, stayed at the famous Rimrock Hotel, and rafted down Kicking Horse River!
Throughout it all, we hiked over 60 miles, drank LOTS of beer, ate LOTS of food, and saw LOTS of wildlife (Bears, Deers, Elk). Canada is truly one of the most beautiful places and we highly, highly recommend anyone who enjoys the outdoors to visit!!

Adrenaline junkies, take note: Canada’s west coast is a must-visit destination, and nowhere is that more apparent than in Whistler. Co-host of the 2010 Winter Olympics, this town is home to incredible mountains and world-renowned for its skiing and other activities sure to get your heart racing! Zipline, whitewater raft, or journey up a mountain on the famous Peak-to-Peak Gondola.
If it feels like there’s a new thrilling adventure everywhere you look in this region, that’s probably because it’s true! Continue on to Jasper National Park, where you’ll find vast glaciers, cruising across crystal-clear lakes, and plenty of opportunity to explore the largest national park in the Canadian Rockies.
Has all of that exploration and adventure left you thirsty? Good news; the tour then heads to the Okanagan Valley, known as “Canada’s fruit basket.” Here, travellers are treated to a tour and tasting in a local winery - the perfect way to cap off the perfect tour.

Hiking Mount Yamnuska | Canada Travel Vlog
Hiking Mount Yamnuska has been on my travel bucket list for Alberta for a really long time. It is such a cool hike, and some of the best views of the Rockies, but also back into the Prairies.
To see my images from Canada check out my instagram at @brendanvanson.
The Yamnuska hike isn't the hardest hike in the Canadian Rockies, but it is a bit of a challenge. There's about a 900m elevation gain and the total trail length is 11km. Most people are told that it'll take 6 hours to do the entire hike. However, we did the hike in about 4 hours. And, if you're fit you should be able to do the same.
Even though the hike up Mount Yamnuska is fairly easy doesn't mean you shouldn't be prepared. There are some fairly sketchy parts of the trail.
There's the Yamnuska chain, which is actually a quick little via ferrata. It's not too terrifying, but it does take a bit of nerve.
Also, you really need to be prepared for weather on this hike. The conditions can change really quickly. There are also people that say you should take bear spray with you on the hike. And, it depends on the day. On a busy hiking day, it's probably not necessary. On a quiet day, definitely bring your bear spray.
There's also a section of skree on Yamnuska if you do the loop. You can avoid the skree by going back the same way you come up. But, I kind of had fun with the skree slide.
Hiking Mount Yamnuska was so good. It was so good to be back in the mountains, and back into my stomping grounds here in Alberta. I've been itching for some hikes like this, and it was so good.
When we hit the summit of Mount Yamnuska, we stopped for a bit of a picnic, I took some photos, and then we headed down.
My brother was excited to do some skree skiing down the scramble route of the mountain. I was just stoked to not break my arm by the end of it all.
Then, after we were done our decent down the mountain, we headed to my parent's house which is fairly nearby. I haven't seen my parents for about 8 months, so it was good to see them and it was great to raid their fridge for beer and ice cream.
For those who follow this channel for the photography, you should know that there is loads of photography coming from Alberta. I'll be shooting the mountains as well as Calgary over the next couple days. Stay tuned for those episodes of the travel vlog.
Tomorrow, the Canada travel vlog continues as I'm going to shoot sunrise at the Peace Bridge in Calgary. Stay tuned!
Calgary Travel Agency Travels To The Scenic Ecuador
Our Calgary Travel Agency traveled to Ecuador and it was nothing but an amazing travel adventure of a lifetime!
.
.
Situated in the Andeas, Ecuador is a place where there is massive interest for explorers. Travel to Ecuador and you can trek the Amazon, climb volcanoes, or relax on delightful sea shores.
.
.
Maybe the most compelling motivation to go to Ecuador is a visit to the renowned Galapagos Islands. Notwithstanding your inclination, the accompanying attractions are on their own, worth a look.
.
.
Quito
.
.
A hot bed of provincial engineering, Quito is the capital of Ecuador. The city is viewed as one of the most wonderful in South America with structurally perfect works of art of white washed structures with red tile rooftops.
.
.
For those living in huge urban areas, you will be stunned by the absence of neon lights in Quito.
.
.
Encompassed by snow-topped mountains, the atmosphere is an endless spring consistently. The Avenue of the Amazons, Avenida Amozonas, is a clamoring region with open air bistros and great people viewing.
.
.
Road of the Volcanoes
.
.
South of Quito, the Avenue of the Volcanoes is an absolute must-do tour. Running down each side of the valley are mountain pinnacles dabbed with torpid volcanoes. Little towns all through the valley give the zone an old world vibe.
.
.
.
Galapagos Islands
.
.
Darwin and the Galapagos Islands. Galapagos Islands and Darwin. The two are indivisible. Around 600 miles off the territory, the Galapagos comprise of 13 islands with colorful natural life.
.
.
You can arrive at the islands by flying into San Cristobal or take a vessel ride to the major islands, for example, Isabela.
.
.
San Lorenzo Railway
.
.
In case you're searching for another experience, we recommend taking a ride from San Lorenzo Railway to Ibarra. The excursion goes through endless pleasant views, yet its the train that is generally fascinating.
.
.
The train is really a bus that has been modified into a train to run on the tracks! Just in Ecuador!
.
.
Ecuador has a lot to offer voyagers searching for something unusual. While the Galapagos Islands are stunning, the remainder of the nation has a lot to offer.

WE ARE THE ADVENTURE | BANFF
Banff National Park was easily one of thee most beautiful places I have ever been to. We went in October when unfortunately many locations (like Lake Moraine) were inaccessible. But at this point in the year there were also a lot less tourists, which was nice. We attempted to hike devil's thumb and failed considering the way up was filled with snow, ice, sludge, and mud. The trails were pretty slippery as well. Winter is a tricky time to be there but I would do it again in a heartbeat! An adventure of a lifetime for sure!!!

This is where serenity meets immensity, where the only thing bigger than the mountains is the sky itself. Travel along with us as we venture from high in the Rocky Mountains down to the shores of the Pacific, picking up memories, experiences, and snapshots aplenty along the way.
Best Things To Do In The Northwest Territories - Canada Road Trip Travel Documentary
In this video, we share some of the best things to do in the Northwest Territories, including Yellowknife, Inuvik, and Tuktoyaktuk!
Welcome to the NWT!
With more than one million square kilometres of land area and a population of less than 50,000, the Northwest Territories is about as wild as it gets. It's certainly not an easy area to visit (many places are fly-in, many roads are gravel, and distances are vast) but for those who make the effort, there are incredible things to experience.
With boreal forest, arctic tundra, some of Canada's greatest waterfalls, a vibrant indigenous culture, and boundless wilderness, this is an adventurers paradise!
We explored the NWT from August 16 - September 1st, 2017!
**
Special Note: We just released the Canada Saver Card, a physical discount card that gets you discounts at a variety of attractions, adventures, and activities across Canada! From helicopter tours to rafting, fishing, museums, and horseback rides, save money on all of them for less than $30! -
**
Canada's Road to 150 is a 150-day Canada-wide multi-media road trip celebrating Canada's 150th birthday by exploring the uniqueness of this country provincially and collectively while answering the question; What makes Canada special?
We will drive to and through every driveable province and territory, showcasing Canada's natural beauty and regional attractions while interviewing Canadians of all cultures and backgrounds, including local celebrities, immigrants, refugees, and everyday rural and urban Canadians. Our aim is to dig deep into what makes Canada such an incredibly inspiring country while showing off the best of Canada's tourism to Canadians and to the world.
