Great Mediterranean Coast Hike in Costa Brava, Spain | Day 7 - Cadaques - Cap de Creus Lighthouse
Explore the beauty of Mediterranean coast hiking with us! Discover the variety of landscapes and scenic beaches, its flora and fauna, historical places and small villages. These video series is devoted to the Catalonian part of it, starting from the French village Argelès-sur-Mer in Pyrénées-Orientales all the way to the Spanish village of Cadaqués and Cap de Creus cape on the Costa Brava. Immerse yourself in the peaceful holiday mood and we bet you'll find a place to put on your travel bucket list and to visit on your next vacation! Or even dare to do this hike yourself!
It was the last final day of our hike and the plan was to get to the Cap de Creus Lighthouse and explore the area around it. And so we did getting on the 6 km trail leading to the Lighthouse. The day was overcast and we were ok with it knowing how hot it could get hiking in the sun. But we were still hoping for some epic views and great photos. First part of the trail was going on the car road then turning to the dirt road and then finally to a mountain path. The road part wasn´t too long though. On the way there were lots of uphills and downhills and the path itself was very rocky and unstable in some points. But knowing that you´re already walking on peninsula and from all the sides you´re surrounded by water made this trail really special. Soon enough we started to see the lighthouse up on the mountain top and it looked quite impressive from far. When we got closer to it though it didn´t impress us as much but the place around it was absolutely breathtaking. All those incredible rock cliffs, turquoise water lagoons, seagulls resting and behaving like home and yachts drifting slowly in the sea made this place one in a kind eco system. There is so much variety of relief and rock formations that you can literally spend the whole week there just grasping all that beauty and photographing every corner with the guarantee that every shot is going to be different. So it is definetely a must visit for any passionate phtographer. And we were so dissapointed that we had so little time to spend and explore this place. So we´ll have to come back there at some point in the future. It is to be continued...

UFOs OVNIs Night 28th May 2011 - Far de Sant Sebastià (Girona) - Catalunya (Europe)
Suspected Unidentified Flying Objects (aka UFOs) viewed from Llafranc (Baix Empordà - Girona - Catalonia - Europe) on 2011:05:29 00:45 aprox.
Video was not recorded very good and quality is not good neither (Digital Camera Fujifilm FinePix Z20fd Ver1.00), but:
Tiny lights in the middle of the image are the suspected UFOs, the strong lights in the bottom of the image are houses in the mountain, and lights on the left are buildings from a transmission site in the top of the 'Sant Sebastià' mountain where there's also a lighthouse.
Take as a reference point the lights from the houses and transmission site, and you will see the tiny lights moving slowly in the sky. They were appearing behind the mountain, each one visible for 2-3 minutes aprox. and then disappearing behind the trees. It was in total about 25-35 lights, and it was happening for about 10 minutes since I starting saw them. At the begining I saw 15 at the same time... thought were fireworks from the mountain... but immediately realized they were not...
In the last part of the video, from minute 03:35 till 04:10, you have a full picture (like video should had been all the time) where there's the lights from houses, the transmission site, and if you look carefully there's another tiny light going on and off which is the circular rotative light from the 'Saint Sebastian' lighthouse at the moment the beam points you.
The lighthouse location is WGS84 41° 53′ 45.88″ N, 3° 12′ 8.68″ E (Decimal 41.896078,3.202411) in the top of the mountain, and position when recording is the one for the video location (lat=41.89946016009576 lon=3.189283311367035) in Kim's Bungalow Park.
Background sounds are night birds, tv movie, and a car passing on the near road.
I was spending a few days holidays at that time, and I have been in the area many times.
...
I haven't seen anything like that before in the sky, so that's why my brain classified them as Unidentified Flying Objects...
By the way, my opinion about UFOs... ok if they want to show up or maybe they are not aware we see them, but so far we do not need them, so it's ok if they do not interfere with us :)

Native Catalan Version:
