Week Three in Oxford (and a day in London)
Kyle and I have been introduced to our colleges, so we took a risk and started our week off by going to a Sunday Formal which we were not ready for AT ALL. It was soooo awkward for us while we were there, but it worked out in the end and is just a laughing matter now.
I walked around Broad Street and they were doing some activism for Veganism, which is not a bad thing, but I found interesting.
Gracie, Tess and I went to a panel at St. Hilda’s College to learn and listen about the British Prisons and Detention Centers which are quite similar to the States.
We all did our homework together and thought we would mix things up, so we ended up reading the last chapter together only to get an uneventful ending. It was a difficult book to get through because of all the false starts. North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell (if anyone is interested).
We had our London Excursion to the Natural History Museum and to watch “The Wider Earth” there. It was about Darwin and his journey, but on the other hand of the museum, I got to see BONESSSS for the first time and it was sooooooooooo cool!!
We finalized our day at a pub with a lot of Shakespeare in it. It was wonderful to be in as an English major.
Since Kyle and Molly left for Dublin, Claire, Gracie, Tess, and I all went to the Rainbow Bop at Linacre College. It was the first time I’ve seen Drag Queens and I got to dance with them!! It was such an exciting and fun night.
(With no video or images, I am ashamed to say that during this week I did go watch “Trump, The Musical” and it was something I never knew I would experience and there is no way of preparing yourself if you decide to watch it. I am just saying, it was WILD).
