We take a tour of the historical city of Lincoln in Lincolnshire, UK. The city was first garrisoned in the 1st century AD by the Romans, where it went by the name Lindum Colonia.
There is plenty of history in the architecture of the city - particularly Lincoln Castle and Lincoln Cathedral, both consecrated in the 11th century. Other notable buildings include Jew's House (6:28), built in the 12th Century and one of the oldest town houses still standing in England, and Leigh-Pemberton House (9:43), a genuine timber-framed Tudor house built in 1543.
The walk starts on Waterside South adjacent to the river Witham, and proceeds down Lincoln High Street, leading to the famous aptly named Steep Hill. This in turn takes us to Castle Hill, where we find to the west Lincoln Castle, and to the east Lincoln Cathedral.
TIMESTAMPS:
0:00 - Waterside South
1:29 - High Street
2:04 - Lincoln Guildhall

Lincoln Cathedral or the Cathedral Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Lincoln, and sometimes St. Mary's Cathedral in Lincoln, England is the seat of the Anglican bishop. Building commenced in 1088 and continued in several phases throughout the medieval period.
Lincoln Cathedral was the tallest building in the world for 238 years (1311–1549), and the first building to hold that title after the Great Pyramid of Giza. The central spire collapsed in 1549 and was not rebuilt. The Lincoln Cathedral is the third largest in Britain (in floor area) after St Paul's and York Minster, being 484 by 271 feet (148 by 83 m).
Lincoln Cathedral is highly regarded by architectural scholars; the eminent Victorian writer John Ruskin declared: I have always held... that the cathedral of Lincoln is out and out the most precious piece of architecture in the British Isles and roughly speaking worth any two other cathedrals we have.

Such stories do not redound to the credit of Christendom, and so we pray:

Lincoln Cathedral, United Kingdom - Oldest Cathedrals in England
Lincoln Cathedral, United Kingdom - a testament to the grandeur, history, and culture of Old England.
Standing high on a hilltop in England's East Midlands, Lincoln Cathedral is a throwback to Roman times. Seen from nearly anywhere in the surrounding flatlands of Lincolnshire, the structure's three soaring bell towers dominate the landscape and represent a Gothic past and historic architecture.
Lincoln's Cathedral is one of England's largest and certainly holds as much history as just about any other in the Kingdom.
Take a quick tour with us through this impressive structure and definitely take the time to tour in person, should you find yourself
in England's East Midlands at any point.
Enjoy!

Lincoln, England - Historic Cathedral, Castle, Food and Tours!
From Roman times, through the Renaissance, Gothic and Medieval periods, Lincoln City's charm have only grown stronger over the centuries.
Tucked away in England's East Midlands, there are no major throughways or highways that will lead you to this historic wonder, but it's worth the trek to get there, whether it be by car or train.
The city's claim to fame may be securing one of four remaining copies of the original Magna Carta in the vaults of the castle - right next to a copy of the Charter of the Forest, another historical document.
The Cathedral is the third largest in the UK and will impress as you walk around the outside and stare up at the gothic architecture, while inside represents Roman times and beyond.
The castle still stands strong after years of repelling battle as foreign and domestic armies attacked.
Take a tour through these historic sites and up the famous Steep Hill.
Finish off with some great food.
Enjoy!
