5 Top-Rated Ski Resorts in New Hampshire | US Ski Resort Guide
5 Top-Rated Ski Resorts in New Hampshire, USA
New Hampshire's White Mountains include the tallest peaks in the northeastern United States, and the elevation, plus the northern latitude, assures plenty of natural snow. Early and late in the season, and to tide over the occasional winter thaw, state-of-the-art snowmaking and grooming equipment keeps the trails and slopes in A-1 condition all winter. Not all New Hampshire's ski mountains are in the northern part of the state. Two excellent ski resorts are in the mid-state Lakes Region, and two other good-sized mountains are close to the Massachusetts line in the south. Here five ski resorts in new Hampshire, United States.
1. Cranmore Mountain and North Conway
2. Bretton Woods
3. Loon Mountain
4. Mount Sunapee
5. Attitash Mountain

Four Days in New Hampshire of Family and Friends Hiking, Paddling, Tenting and Moose Sighting.
Grab a cup of coffee or another favorite beverage, kick up your feet, and enjoy how a family bonds through the great outdoors of New Hampshire. My 18-year-old nephew Austin graduated from his southern California (CA) high school. For Austin achieving this educational milestone, my wife, Cathy, and I arranged for him to fly to New Hampshire in July to experience our Live Free or Die outdoors.
The four day trip would entail:
(1) Hike the Tuckerman Ravine Trail from the Appalachian Mountain Club's (AMC) Pinkham Notch hut to the AMC Lake of the Cloud (LOC) hut for a one night stay.
(2) On day 2 hike from LOC hut to the peak of Mt Washington, the highest mountain in the northeast at 6,288 feet and a record windspeed of 231 mph.
(3) Tent for two days at Lake Francis State Park in the Connecticut Lakes area in Pittsburg, NH.
o Hike to and around the 4th Connecticut Lake located on the border of Canada and the United States. The 4th Connecticut Lake is the headwaters of the 410 mile long Connecticut River
o Paddle the Third Connecticut Lake
o Paddle Lake Francis
o Moose sightings on 18 mile Moose Alley

Carved by nature, experience Flume Gorge, Lincoln NH
Natural wonder, appreciation and general adventure is what today was about. The gorge was nothing less than spectacular. The views, fresh air, trees, rocks & rushing water will fill your senses. Step back in time and appreciate what nature has created and given us to be able to hike, see and experience... this is truly what it means to be alive. Happy Exploring ????
Nearly 200 million years ago in the Jurassic period, the Conway granite that forms the walls of the Flume was deeply buried molten rock. As it cooled, the granite was broken by closely spaced vertical fractures which lay nearly parallel in a northeasterly direction. Sometime after the fractures were formed, small dikes of basalt were forced up along the fractures. The basalt came from deep within the earth as a fluid material, and because of pressure, was able to force the Conway granite aside. The basalt crystallized quickly against the relatively cold granite. Because of this quick cooling, the basalt is a fine- grained rock. Had this material ever reached the surface, it would have become lava flows.
The Flume Gorge is a natural gorge extending 800 feet (240 m) horizontally at the base of Mount Liberty in Franconia Notch State Park, New Hampshire, United States. Cut by the Flume Brook, the gorge features walls of Conway granite that rise to a height of 70 to 90 feet (21 to 27 m) and are 12 to 20 feet (3.7 to 6.1 m) apart. Discovered in 1808 by 93-year-old Aunt Jess Guernsey. she accidentally came upon it while fishing. She had trouble convincing her family of the marvelous discovery, but eventually persuaded others to come and see for themselves. At that time, a huge egg-shaped boulder hung suspended between the walls. The rock was 10 feet (3.0 m) high and 12 feet (3.7 m) long. A heavy rainstorm in June 1883 started a landslide that swept the boulder from its place. The boulder has never been found. The same storm deepened the gorge and formed Avalanche Falls.
the Flume is now an attraction that allows visitors to walk right through the gorge.

Mount Rosebrook - Bretton Woods
NH Fire Tower List map…
On our continuing quest to stand on every site where a fire tower stands, once stood or was proposed brought us to Mount Rosebrook part of Bretton Woods Ski Resort in NH. #68 of the 93 towers for us. This hike was different for us as Bretton Woods offers free chairlift rides during the summer to their mid mountain restaurant. From there we continued to hike to the summit of Mount Rosebrook and found the canister to sign in.
