Linn of Dee & Cairngorm Mountains
A walk from Linn o`Dee, with its narrow gorge, to the Corbett, Sgor Mor, in the heart of the Cairngorms. Walking beside the River Dee, until we head uphill to the summit from Glen Dee.
Views from the top, looking across the Lairig Ghru, to some of our highest mountains, including Cairn Toul, Braeriach and Ben Macdui. (4th, 3rd and 2nd highest).
The river source, the Wells of Dee, is at a height of 4000ft on the plateau top of Braeriach, the highest of any river in Britain.

Autumn Linn of Dee River Dee Aberdeenshire Highlands Scotland
Tour Scotland Autumn travel video of the Linn of Dee, located on the River Dee, 6 miles west of Braemar on visit to Cairngorms National Park in Aberdeenshire. The River Dee rises in the Cairngorms and flows through Strathdee to reach the North Sea at Aberdeen. At Linn of Dee the river passes east through a 300 metre natural rock gorge, a spot much favoured by Queen Victoria during her stays at Balmoral. The queen opened the bridge that spans the Dee at this point in 1857.
The River Dee at Braemar, Scottish Highlands, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, UK
The River Dee (Scottish Gaelic: Uisge Dè) is a river in Aberdeenshire, Scotland.
It rises in the Cairngorms and flows through Strathdee (Deeside) to reach the North Sea at Aberdeen.
The name is attested as early as the second century AD in the work of the Alexandrian geographer Claudius Ptolemy, as Δηοῦα (=Deva), meaning 'Goddess', indicating a divine status for the river in the beliefs of the ancient inhabitants of the area.
The several other rivers of the same name in Great Britain have the same origin. The Dee's near neighbour to the north, the river Don also means 'goddess'.
The River Dee rises at approximately 4,000 feet in elevation on the plateau of Braeriach, the highest source of any major river in the British Isles. Water emerges in a number of pools and flows across the plateau to the cliff edge, then plunges into An Garbh Choire.
The young Dee joins a tributary from the Pools of Dee in the Lairig Ghru and passes between Ben Macdui and Cairn Toul. It flows over falls in the Chest of Dee on its way to White Bridge, the confluence of the Geldie Burn.
This is the River Dee from the bridge on Invercauld Road in Braemar.
Climbing Clachnaben, Aberdeenshire
Clachnaben is a 1932ft hill near Glen Dye, Aberdeenshire.
We hiked to the top in approximately 90mins, reaching the granite tor and the trig point marking the top! If you look closely you might even spot Bennachie from up there :)

Places to see in ( Braemar - UK )
Places to see in ( Braemar - UK )
Braemar is a village in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, around 58 miles west of Aberdeen in the Highlands. It is the closest significantly-sized settlement to the upper course of the River Dee sitting at an altitude of 339 metres.
The Gaelic Bràigh Mhàrr properly refers to the area of upper Marr (as it literally means), i.e. the area of Marr to the west of Aboyne, the village itself being Castleton of Braemar (Baile a' Chaisteil). The village used to be known as Cinn Drochaid (bridge end); Baile a' Chaisteil referred to only the part of the village on the east bank of the river, the part on the west bank being known as Ach an Droighinn (thorn field).
Braemar is approached from the South on the A93 from Glen Clunie and the Cairnwell Pass and from the East also on the A93 from Deeside. Braemar can be approached on foot from the West through Glen Tilt, Glen Feshie, Glen Dee (by the Lairig Ghru), and Glen Derry (by the Lairig an Laoigh). Braemar is within a one-and-a-half-hour drive of Aberdeen, Dundee, and Perth. The village is overlooked (from roughly northwest) by Carn na Drochaide (818 m), (from roughly northeast) by Creag Choinneach (538 m), (from roughly southwest) by Carn na Sgliat (690 m), and (from roughly southwest) by Morrone (859 m).
Historically the village is situated in the upper end of the historical Earldom of Mar or literally the Braes o' Mar. In Scottish Gaelic, Bràigh Mhàrr (upland of Mar) referred to the general locality rather than the village itself. The use of Braemar to specifically refer to the village dates to around 1870. Previously, two independent hamlets existed on the banks of the Clunie Water named on the West bank; Auchendryne, on the East bank; Castleton, the name referring to Kindrochit Castle (within the modern-day village) rather than Braemar Castle
Known colloquially as The Games and originating from those believed to have been held by Malcolm III, an annual Highland Games Gathering is held at Braemar on the first Saturday in September and is traditionally attended by the British Royal Family.
In 1746, the Act of Proscription stopped all clan gatherings, but following its repeal in 1782, the old enthusiasms for such events returned.
Braemar has a golf course, two large hotels (Fife Arms and Invercauld Arms) as well as many smaller hotels and private homes offering bed and breakfast-style accommodation and a large SYHA hostel. On the southern edge of the village there is also a caravan site. A tourist information centre is opposite the Fife Arms Hotel. Braemar also has a small Post Office/village shop and mountain bike hire.

Deers in Braemar
On a recent trip in the early hours to Braemar in the Scottish highlands we spotted these bad boys, just crossing the road like cars never existed. There was about 15 at this point of the road but by the time i grabbed my camera and set it up there was only 3 left. We seen hundreds that night though all over that area.

Isle of Skye in 3 Minutes | Scottish Highlands Video | ArboursAbroad
We have been to the Isle of Skye on three separate occasions spread between the months of January, March, and April, therefore giving us the opportunity to do many things on Skye.
A couple of the most memorable experiences were hiking The Old Man of Storr, hiking The Quiraing, seeing the northern lights near Fairy Pools, and experiencing the strongest wind ever at Duntulum Castle!
We feel that the Isle of Skye is one of the most spectacular places on this planet, but the weather can be very temperamental, as you can see in our Isle of Skye Video! Even with visiting this highlands isle as many times as us, we were still confronted with extreme wind and rain each time--it's basically inevitable in Scotland!
So no matter what time of year you go, expect a little bit of the Scottish weather but don't worry, it's actually quite fun! The only advice we can give you on the time of year to go is that the summer is peak season and they titrate the number of people they allow onto the island if you are a tourist! So look at going in the shoulder seasons or book your accommodations well in advance and leave early to beat the traffic on those narrow Scottish Isle of Skye roads!
Cheers!
