Day Out at Linton Zoo Vlog
Going to the Zoo is one of Dan’s and my favourite couple activities. I just love to see all the animals, big and small – but especially the big cats. If you want to see a fairly cheeky, uncensored version of David Attenborough, you’ve definitely come to the right place.
Linton Zoo is perfect for a few reasons: 1. It’s the closest Zoo to our houses. 2. It’s a Conservation park so you know that they’re doing good for the animal kingdom. 3. Admission is reasonably priced. 4. Their lions are SO AMAAZING.

Very cute albino wallaby joey at Linton Zoo, England
An update!
Our latest baby is a rare albino wallaby. Albino animals (including humans) lack pigment for colouring which means our little joey has pink eyes and will have white fur. Red-necked wallabies are usually grey-brown in colour, just like parents Kylie and Jason, aunty Dani and big brother Bonza but, on rare occasions, a white or albino is born, even after generations of normal coloured individuals. We think our mob are probably descended from the original white wallabies given as a gift to Queen Elizabeth II whilst on a state visit to Australia in 1962.
It is the first time an albino wallaby has been born at Linton Zoo and the exciting new arrival was a total surprise for keepers when the little one popped its head out of the pouch for the first time on Friday 8th February.
Although it is still snuggled up in its mum's pouch it seems appropriate for a white wallaby to have emerged for the first time during the snowy weather. Now the little one is causing much discussion amongst both visitors and staff as to what it should be named, we are sure that Snowy, Snow Flake or Frosty may be top of the list!

ABOUT US
Reeves Family Adventures is Lisa and Simon Reeves, our dog Talulah (she's half yorkie, half mini schnauzer) and our kitty Ruby. We have always had a love for all things Disney but when we met 15 years ago realised that it was a shared passion. We had our first trip in September 2002, we even got married at the Wedding Pavilion in December 2014 and continue to love everything Disney and try to make a trip to visit each year.
Talulah and Ruby have more Disney cuddly toys and themed bowls etc than most children too!
Come along with us as we not only vlog our Disneyland Paris and Walt Disney World trips but also all our other adventures too!
African Lions at Linton Zoo love their new Christmas Tree
Many of our animals have an extra seasonal variation in enrichment items at this time of the year. Having been the centre of fun for several weeks in peoples homes the discarded Christmas Trees come to us to provide hours of fun for our animals.
Zuri was born on 3rd July 2006 at West Midlands Safari Park, having been rejected by his inexperience first time mother he was removed for hand-rearing and came to live with us at just a few weeks old. Zuri and his mate, Safina, born here at Linton Zoo on 30th November 2005, have just become grandparents twice over. Two of their offspring, Louisa (who now lives at Longleat Safari Park) and Zara (who lives at the Entebbe Wildlife Education Centre in Uganda) have recently become first time mothers themselves.
White-collared lemur baby at Linton Zoo
This gorgeous little White Collared Lemur (Eulemur cinereiceps) was born on Tuesday 12th March 2013 to mum Harriet and dad Jeepster, also born at Linton. In this video he is nearly 5 weeks old, you can see from the white colouring around his throat, that it's a boy!
With only 14 of this Critically Endangered species in Europe, every single birth is incredibly important to help safeguard the future of this very special lemur. At Linton Zoo we run the breeding programme for the White Collared Lemur and with 10 of the 14 living here with us, Linton Zoo is the only place in the UK where you can see them.
It's no surprise that the White Collared Lemur is one of the rarest primates in the world as it has one of the most restricted ranges of any Eulemur species, the total habitat remaining within this species' range is less than 700 km². Its greatest threat is the continued conversion of rain forest habitat to agricultural land. It is trapped easily by hunters during the fruiting seasons and hunted with shotguns, snares and slingshots, particularly when it comes into coffee plantations.

Katinka, Amur Tigress at Linton Zoo, U K has double fun playing in the snow with Christmas trees!
Katinka the Amur Tigress was born here at Linton Zoo on 19th April 2006. Tigers are one of the most endangered species on our planet, but enjoy a successful International breeding programme which, for some of the subspecies, will at least safeguard them from total extinction.
Christmas trees provide a special seasonal variation on the enrichment programme our animals enjoy. Amur tigers are especially at home in freezing conditions, so Katinka had lots of fun today playing in the snow with Christmas trees - two of her favourite activities!

Colchester Zoo and Linton Zoo
A couple of great days out. Firstly Colchester Zoo, one of the best we've been to with fantastic access and views to see all the animals, along with Elephant and Giraffe feeding. The second day was at Linton Zoo. We weren't expecting much but it really surprised us at what a cool place it is to visit. Many more animals than we were expecting. We'll definitely be back to both.
Linton Zoo's cute porcupette now 3 ½ months old
Hasa our African porcupette (baby porcupine) was born on 10th December 2012. This film clip shows the good progress this little one has made and how quickly she/he has grown over the last three and half months. From a very young age the porcupette copied its parents and soon learnt to rattle its tail and stamp its feet when disturbed! First time parents Halla and Henry have proved to be the perfect parents, see super cute Hasa filmed here with mum whilst dad was out foraging. On nice days the whole family are venturing outside, much to the delight of our visitors!
You can see a video clip of Hasa when it was first born here . For more information about Linton Zoo visit our website lintonzoo.com and follow us on Facebook.
