Lion's Head Beach
Cobble stone coastline are a natural marvel - over hundreds and hundreds of years, the tide has deposited rocks of various sizes and shapes onto the shore. Most of the stones have been bleached white by the sun and cleaned by the waves.
The beautiful blue and aqua water glint and glitter in the sun, offering impressive views.

SOUTHAMPTON BEACH & LIONS HEAD HIKING | JUL 1-2 2018
For Canada Day long weekend, a few close friends, Joey and I decided to check out Lion's Head Provincial Park. Since the drive to Lions Head was nearly 3.5 hours away from Toronto, we decided to stop by Southampton beach first, stay over, and then go to Lions Head. The day of Southampton beach was a bit chaotic as it was the actual Canada Day (Jul 1), and Southampton beach and surrounding beaches were all unwelcoming in terms of allowing pets on the beach. We were scolded by a local about the no-pet law and were given dirty looks... sigh. However after checking other nearby spots, we said fk it and went back to our original spot.
PSA* - If you plan on checking out Southampton beach, dont bring your dog.. the day will be less miserable.
Lion's Head on the other hand was pet friendly and the hike was a beautiful, rugged, well-marked trail that led to a breathtaking lookout point. The whole loop is about 20km (~ 7 hours) but we just went to the lookout point and came back, which took about ~3 hours.

Hiking the Bruce Trail in northern Ontario. Lion's Head Ontario Canada is located on or somewhere near the 45th parallel north, halfway between the Equator and the North Pole. The town is named after the resemblance of a lion's profile in the rock formation of the Niagara Escarpment.

Scuba Dive at Isthmus Bay Rd near Lions Head Ont, Canada
Renee and I had a nice shore dive at Lions Head Bridge across the road from 239 Isthmus Bay Rd (see the map on the video). The path down is a little rocky, so you have to be careful. There is very limited parking for a few vehicles only. Water visibility and temperature was better than at Cedar Hill Park. If you need restroom facilities the best thing to do is use the public restrooms at the beach in downtown Lions Head before you drive to the dive site. Our dive went north (left) where bottom depth is greater than to the south (right). Due to silt it may be a little murkier near the lake bottom.
Hope you enjoy the video. Claude and Renee
