PRONI - Looking At Lissan
PRONI hosted a conference on 19th March 2015 examining the Staples family of Lissan, Cookstown, Co Tyrone. Speakers drew from papers held in PRONI and elsewhere to consider the family’s estates, highlight some of the more colourful members of the Staples family, examine the significance of Lissan House and discuss the work of the Lissan House Trust.

Mar 2019 Cookstown Disco Crush in Northern Ireland Part 2
March 2019. The deaths of teenagers outside a St Patrick's Day party at a hotel in Cookstown, County Tyrone, dominate the Belfast Telegraph and the Daily Mirror. The papers report that two people were killed, but a third death was confirmed early on Monday morning, after the newspapers went to print. The papers report that there was a stampede at the Greenvale Hotel. The hotel was hosting a party for young people to celebrate St Patrick's Day. Paramedics, doctors and five emergency crews were dispatched to the venue at about 21:30 GMT.
