Rob The Ranger is a proudly South African YouTuber
The purpose of the Rob The Ranger Wildlife Videos YouTube channel is to show what it is like to experience seeing wild animals on an African safari. Nature Documentaries are often highly edited to tell a story, wildlife safaris are not, and the idea here is to show the wildlife sightings the way they were seen. Safari tours in Africa are generally suitable for all ages and this channel can be considered an educational channel about incredible nature, some scenes in the nature videos may be more graphic than people are used to but this is the reality of nature and is what you would see if you were present on such a safari in person. Safaris in Kenya, South Africa, or any other African country are an unrivalled experience for anyone with a passion for nature, wildlife photography, and travel. Hopefully the animal videos on this channel can provide a glimpse into what the nature experience is like and encourage more people to take a wildlife safari one day.

The Humble warthog of Africa - fondly known as Pumba - Kruger National Park Wildlife Safari.
The Warthog, Phacochoerus africanus, a common resident of the Kruger National Park, is widely spread throughout most of sub-Saharan Africa. With a flat head and large warts, this is a really unattractive member of the pig family. The male of the species can weigh as much as 100kgs, with the female much smaller, weighing in at only 70kgs.
Both the males (boars) and females (sows) have 2 sets of ivory tusks – an upper set which is curved into a semi-circle, and a lower set which is extremely sharp and dangerous. The tusks are formidable weapons, and in males can reach a length of 25cms. Both sexes have distinctive wart-like bumps on their faces, but on the male these are much more pronounced, with the upper “warts” growing extremely large, possibly to protect their eyes during fights with other males in the mating season.
Warthogs have a naked grey skin, covered with occasional sparse bits of bristly hair. Along the backbone there is a little more hair, forming a small mane, and finally, it sports a tuft of coarse hair right at the tip of its tail. As with many other bushveld animals, oxpeckers assist in keeping insects and ticks off these bare creatures, and wallowing in the mud completes the job of removing pests.
The males of the species are generally solitary, while the females live in small social groups called soundings, made up of one or two mothers with their 3-4 piglets. When running through the grass, their tails stand straight up, with the hair on the end waving like a little pennant, making it easy for members of the family to follow each other.
Warthogs are herbivores, eating plants, grasses, roots and bulbs. They are often seen kneeling on their calloused front legs, using their snouts and tusks to dig for buried tubers.
Although capable of digging their own homes, warthogs generally live in abandoned holes and burrows, their favourite being aardvark burrows. When chased by predators, their instinct is flight rather than fight. Given the opportunity, they will flee to their burrows at speeds of up to 30 kilometers per
hour and scurry in backwards, leaving those menacing tusks facing outwards. Many guests on safari have had the opportunity of seeing hungry lion or leopard prowling around a termite mound, unable to safely dig out the warthog inside its den. #KrugerNationalPark #Wildlife #Warthog

Brutal lion kill in the Kruger National Park (Not for sensitive viewers)
On my way to lower sabie I spotted a lioness on the side of the road and 3 buffalo on the river side. As soon as the lioness saw the buffalo the chase was on. The buffalo fought al the way till the end. I have never witnessed such determination to stay alive. It was quite tough to watch. Enjoy
Elephants near Shingwedzi in Kruger Park October 2013 #2 = elliesKruger :)
This was taken of a herd of elephants moving down the access road to
the Singwedzi camp in October 2013.
Sorry about the panning but we were just 2 metres from some fairly big
mamas with very small calves. We didn't want to attract unwanted
attention and better still disturb their grazing. It was their place not ours.
The herd extended for over 100 metres on the opposite side of the road
(our side was a 10 metre river bank so no escape there).

Crocodiles, Yellow-billed Stork, Egret, Fishing | Kruger National Park
Nice morning activity at the Silwervis Dam with crocodiles, a yellow - billed stork and a great egret all trying to catch fish. There was quite a high concentration of crocodiles. Other birds at the dam included hammerkop, common sandpiper and green-backed heron.
Silwervis dam on the Shingwedzi river is only accessible to guests staying at the Bateleur bushveld camp.

Baby Elephant Bull Calf in the Kruger National Park shows mother how well she taught him.
A Baby Elephant enjoys the pleasure of mud bathing in the Shingwedzi river in the Kruger National Park, showing the mother it mastered the technique .... sort of.
And the little one also discovered hard work can be tiresome.
But one must also look at the mother's body language and how she reacts, she is not impressed at all with the juvenile elephant following them. At one stage she even threw mud past her body at him....
Kruger Park National Park, South Africa
The Kruger National Park in South Africa is really an amazing National Park. With just under 2 million ha of land for animals to roam and part of the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park making a huge 37 million ha wilderness, you are going to find some diversity here.
I have been a couple of times now and each time it is awe inspiring. From the laughing Hyenas at night to the roars of the lion in the early morning. The massive elephants and Rhinos that roar around too just are astoundingly beautiful and possibly give a small glimpse of what Africa must of looked like to those early tribes and explorers.
If you have the chance - even a slight chance - VISIT! The camps in the park are great, very well managed and normally quiet.
There is plenty to see and do in the Kruger National Park too. Below find some links to information on the Kruger National Park and share your stories with us.
