Breitling and Little Switzerland Launch Newest Chronograph at Celebration in USVI
Breitling partnered with luxury retailer Little Switzerland to host the Caribbean launch of its newest chronograph design, the Chronomat 01.
The Chronomat 01 was unveiled at an exclusive, invitation-only event on Main Street in downtown Charlotte Amalie in front of the Breitling Boutique.
A chronograph is a watch with both timekeeping and stopwatch functions. Breitling is synonymous with chronograph, and the Chronomat 01 redefines chronograph manufacturing.
The Chronomat 01 is the first Breitling watch to house the Caliber 01, a chronograph movement developed and produced in Breitling's own workshop. In 2009 Breitling entered the ranks of the rare timepiece manufacturers to have its own chronograph movement.
Available in Steel and Rose Gold, the Chronomat 01 features a sapphire crystal caseback to showcase its precision movement.
Little Switzerland is the Caribbean's leading luxury retailer with more than 35 stores in Key West, Florida; Aruba; Tortola, BVI; Puerto Rico; Barbados, St. Maarten; St. Thomas; St. John; the Cayman Islands; the Bahamas; and Curacao.
Little Switzerland's featured brands include: Breitling, Bulgari, Cartier, Chopard, Citizen, David Yurman, H. Stern, Ippolita, Jaeger-Le Coultre, John Hardy, Lagos, Longines, Marco Bicego, Michele Watches, Mikimoto, Movado, Nixon, O'Clock, Omega, Pandora, Rado, Roberto Coin, Stephen Webster, Swarovski, Swatch, Swiss Army, Tag Heuer, Tiffany, Tissot, Toy Watch, Zenith.
Breitling was founded in 1884 by Leon Breitling. Although originally designed for aviation purposes, it is most frequently worn as a high-end luxury sport watch. All Breitling watches are manufactured in Switzerland with Swiss components.
In its one-hundred-twenty-six year history, Breitling has pioneered several key inventions in the watch industry.
1915 - The first independent push piece.
1923 - Separation of the stop/start reset function
1934 -- Second independent pushpiece for zero setting

(Curacao - a Small Caribbean Netherlands)

Lucky Dube live in Cane Garden Bay, Tortola, Virgin Islands
South African reggae superstar Lucky Dube visited the Virgin Islands in 2007, performing for the seventh BVI Music Fest.
It was to be one of his last concerts.
I had just moved to Tortola to work for a local newspaper, and lived in Cane Garden Bay. The beach where Dube played was usually pretty quiet, but this festival attracted fans from all over the Caribbean and it was so crowded we could barely see the stage.
My friend and neighbor, who was also from South Africa and wearing his country's flag like a cape, tried to get as close as we could by inching our way through the crowd. Even knee deep in the ocean, we could only hear that steady reggae rhythm pulsing through the humid tropical air.
We had a great time anyway, and I wasn't too disappointed because I didn't know all that much about Dube.
When he was killed later that year on October 18th, 2007 in a carjacking attempt in his home country— it sparked a lot of research into his life and music.
He soon became one of my favorite reggae artists.
My time on Tortola was fairly short, because at the close of the Bush administration I really felt like I needed to be in the United States to work on the 2008 election. At the time I didn't have a plan, I just knew I needed to be involved.
Back then, before the Netflix era, bootleg sellers of DVDs were very common. Literally they are pirates of the Caribbean, and that always amused me. The sellers' summaries of the films were often passionate and entertaining, so I'd hail 'em up even if I wasn't 100% ready to buy.
When one seller at Myett's Bar said he had a copy of the Cane Garden Bay Lucky Dube concert, I knew I had to have it, even though I expected a shaky handycam version with bad sound. Little did I know it would be this much of a professional shoot (by who I don't know and couldn't find out).
I hope you enjoy this as much as I have over the years, and from it can get a feel for the healing, redemptive message of Lucky Dube. I encourage you to explore his unique and powerful music; he is of the reggae / Rasta culture, but has his own beliefs too.
We cannot forget the past, but if there is one lesson I've learned from Rastafari and His followers, it is this: we must break the cycle of hate with love, and that love is the only path that will allow us to reach the equality and kinship of all humankind.
One love and peace.

While I constantly try to find the positives in every place I visit, there are few places that I just simply didn't enjoy.
The country of Brunei is one of them.
I went to Brunei back in 2014, three years before I made videos, but my negative experiences in the country have stuck in my mind ever since. That, combined with its absurd human rights laws such as stoning to death LGBT members, I was pushed to make this video.
Have you ever visited any countries that you didn't enjoy? Please share below, I'm curious to know.

Here we go again!
We board a flight from Amsterdam and in 9 hours we are in the Caribbean. After a layover of just a couple of hours on Curacao, we fly on to Jamaica. We land in Kingston around 11 am local time. The air is hot, but not too humid.
We have a 3 hours layover, so we decide to get out of the airport and go have lunch in Port Royal, half an hour away on the coast. It's a bit of a ghost-town, once a very rich merchant harbor, destroyed at the end of the seventeenth century by a powerful earthquake. It looks like it never really recovered…
We eat lunch in a small fish-restaurant, famous for its snapper. But I eat jerk chicken because I am picky with my fish, and the jerk-spices here are amazing!
Of course we drink some Red Stripe beers, and Simon and myself decide it's time to find some weed. It does not take long before we hit the jackpot: literally on the side of the local Police station, along the seaside, there are some barracks and shacks; inside a group of Rastas is busy cleaning and chopping weed and rolling it up in small balls, using rolling papers as containers.
We ask if we can buy some, and the guys are thrilled. It's cheap, less than 1 Euro per gram. But it's a bit bitter, very leafy, and we enjoy it just because it's been a while since we smoked in Amsterdam! Some of the Rastas in the back are smoking crack cocaine in a glass pipe, the smell is terribly sour. They ask if we like some, and we politely tell them we are just here for the ganja; they nod, and scream Jah Rastafari!
We sit and smoke a joint with them, and chat a bit about the local weed, and the cops. It's incredible that this is all happening next to the Police station.
We leave as soon as the joint is over, and we go back to the restaurant to join the rest of the crew.
It's time to get back to the airport and catch a Jamaican Airlines flight to Montego Bay, where our local contacts are waiting. The flight is really short, under half hour, and we arrive in MoBay before sunset. Bigga, Shanti, Nampo and Taleban are waiting for us and it's great to see them again; Arjan and myself spent some crazy days with these guys not long ago, during our scouting trips on the island.
These guys are a tight crew, and they are going to take care of us during the next days of this filming trip.
Nampo is a older Rasta, wise man, with lots of contacts and very respected.
Taleban, his friend, is a grower and a smuggler, a real pirate and one of the funniest guys we ever had with us during our expeditions.
Bigga is our driver/bodyguard, he's a man of the road and he knows who and what you need to know to keep us safe.
Shanti is a local singer, a reggae artist with an amazing talent and a great personality. I know him since he was 10 years old, back in 1994, when I spent a few weeks near where he lived with his father (the man supplying me with fine herb at the time). It was really special to find Shanti during our scouting trips back in July, he's now a grown up man… and I am getting old! Shanti will come along and make sure the soundtrack of our travels is inspiring and inspired.
We get the cars, two Toyota Fortuner, and we load up the mountain of gear we are carrying. Then we drive down to Negril in the sunset light, and when we arrive it's already dark. We decide to spend the first night at the Blue Cave Castle, a really cozy place on the rocky cliffs of Negril.
It's another true 1994-flashback for me, this is one of the places where I stayed when I was a 20-years-old ganja-traveler, already a Strain Hunter without knowing it…. Of course to make the flashback even more intense the same room where I slept then is available, so I take it.
It still looks the same.
We are tired from the long travel, and we decide to go for some food. Unfortunately the chef is sick, so we decide to find something not too far away. We hit a jerk-chicken stand by the side of the road and we eat like there's no tomorrow.
After a few Red Stripes and a few joints we go back to the hotel, where we smoke some good amount of high-grade weed, and some gum, the local finger-hash.
The weed is definitely an indica-cross, it tastes sweet and strong, and they say it's from a site not too far from where we are. We make a plan for tomorrow, and we go to sleep. Jamaica is great. It's a true privilege to be here again.
Jah Bless!
And now we are back with MisterX pics, the man is a true artist..... enjoy!

Living in the Cayman Islands as an Expat Family No Income Tax No Snow Just Beach and Palm Trees
Living in the Cayman Islands as an Expat Family No Income Tax No Snow Just Beach and Palm Trees Plus pay off your student loans while living on a tropical island in the caribbean. Students and professionals are needed in the Cayman Islands to power the tourist and offshore investment economy. Many Expats from around the world live and work in the Cayman Islands for a few years at a time to live out the fantasy of tropical island living. We did it, we loved it and would recommend it. For a student with college debts it is the perfect way to earn tax free income and pay off large debts fast and also begin to save up cash for future studies, a long trip, or even a downpayment on a house. There are young people singles and couples who work a year or two and then travel the world. There are no rules, just dreams and endless possibilities. I never thought I could move to a tropical tax free island with my wife and 10 year old daughter, but we did it. Se sold off all the furniture, the car, and moved to the Cayman Islands. Once we got there it was easy to replace furniture and a car there. When we left the island a few years later, we sold the furniture and the car easily. Stuff is just stuff... But the memories and new friendships last forever. Plus the work experience comes in handy down the road as it looks good on a resume.
