Dirt Bikes, Four Wheelers vs Boston and Massachusetts State Police
When you do something illegal you need a camera so you can upload your illegal stuff to the internet.
A trooper shot and wounded a Randolph man and five people were arrested after a chaotic scene involving dozens of people riding off-road bikes and all-terrain-vehicles dangerously on Interstate 93, state police said.
Exit 18 on Interstate-93 southbound near Albany Street was closed for several hours Saturday night after the police-involved shooting.
The shooting and arrests occurred as authorities were responding to numerous 911 calls from motorists and witnesses reporting a large group of masked riders recklessly doing “wheelies” across the city and causing traffic dangers, state police said.

“Approximately 25 to 35 people were riding off-road bikes, motorcycles, and ATVs in a reckless manner in Boston,” Massachusetts State Police spokesman David Procopio said in a statement. “Police received numerous 911 calls reporting reckless operation by this group that was endangering the public.”
The riders “were mostly wearing masks, their faces were obscured, almost every rider,” said Sean, a witness who recorded video of the large group of riders in traffic.
“They scared us,” recounted another witness who saw the riders weaving in and out of traffic and doing “wheelies.”
Around 5 p.m., troopers saw the group traveling in an erratic and dangerous manner on I-93 southbound, and they encountered the group on the ramp to Exit 18 (Mass Avenue) and tried to make arrests, Procopio said.
“During that encounter, a trooper discharged his weapon, striking one of the riders, a 28-year-old Randolph man,” Procopio said.
That man was sent to Boston Medical Center for treatment of what is believed to be a non-life-threatening injury. Another rider who was not shot complained of pain and was sent to an area hospital for evaluation.

A trooper sustained a knee injury during the incident and was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital for treatment, Procopio said.
Sources tell the I-Team’s Cheryl Fiandaca that a state trooper shot a person in the foot, and the person is expected to survive.
At the scene Saturday night, investigators appeared to be focused on a light-colored four-wheeler. Around 7 p.m., a flatbed truck carrying several motorcycles was seen leaving the scene of the shooting.
State Police seized approximately 20 motorcycles and ATVs. Several riders fled the scene during the incident, Procopio said.
A witness named Sean who spotted a group of motorcyclists on Massachusetts Avenue earlier Saturday told WBZ-TV that the riders “looked like they were out for fun, for sure.”
“A lot of wheelies. I’ve seen the bikes ride as a big group before, but this was the largest, which is why I put my phone up (to record video), because it was just an extra large group of riders,” said Sean, who tweeted out video of what he saw.
Five suspects were arrested and charged with various offenses, Procopio said. They are expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court next week.
The two suspects who were hospitalized are also expected to be charged.
The incident remains under investigation by the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and Crime Scene Services Section and the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office. Boston Police are assisting in the investigation.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the State Police Detective Unit for Suffolk County at 617-727-8817.

Prison fight: Super-max jail fight sends five inmates to hospital - TomoNews
CHICAGO, ILLINOIS — Five inmates were injured during a massive fight at Illinois's Cook County Jail Friday around 1:30 p.m., in the jail's super-max division.
The mayhem began when an inmate standing near the center of the room punched another in the back of the head. Another inmate was then struck, causing his head to bounce off a cement pillar. Out cold, he remained on the floor until someone pulled him away.
Nearly 30 men in the general population room were present, but some clearly didn’t want to be involved and stayed close to the walls.
Guards eventually brought the situation under control with taser guns.
Several weapons were recovered including two that appear to have been made from inhaler parts. Officials are investigating how the inmates got hold of weapons.
Cara Smith, a spokeswoman for the jail, said five inmates were taken to hospital to be treated for their injuries, including stab wounds, but none of the injuries were life-threatening.
Four of the five inmates were in jail on murder charges while the fifth person was charged with armed robbery.

WCVB Investigation Part 2: Lack of Staff, Security Causes Perilous Conditions at Worcester Hospital
(Part 2 of an investigate series)
Danger and chaos reported by WCVB Channel 5 Boston at the state's premier #mentalhealth facility, as experienced by MNA nurses.
He broke my nose in five places... the blood was just everywhere, said Bill King, a nurse at the Worcester Recovery Center.
King was violently attacked and knocked unconscious by a patient during the night shift. “He had a strong history of violence before he came to us. He had assaulted multiple times; some, very serious.
This two-part investigation that premiered last night is a powerful look inside the unsafe conditions for patients, staff and visitors at WRC.
The report highlights chronic understaffing at the facility, where when the facility is short-staffed, they “assign unqualified employees who work in housekeeping and the center’s kitchen to help monitor and care for the patients” – a shocking practice validated and endorsed in the report by the Department of Mental Health Commissioner.
What will the DMH and Gov. Charlie Baker do about the rampant assaults, the smuggled in weapons and drugs, the dangerous overdoses and the high rate of forensic patients?
They say they will make changes in OCTOBER, five months from now, after the MNA and the nurses at the facility have been raising these concerns for years.
One solution - legislation that would mandate health care providers, including the Commonwealth, develop and implement policies and procedures to prevent workplace violence -- is currently before the legislature.
Roy Rivera fatally shot in Fitchburg, MA
FITCHBURG – People in the neighborhood where a 24-year-old man was fatally shot Tuesday night, say the area is rampant with illegal drug activity and people have become immune to the sound of gunshots through the years.
Police found Roy Rivera, 24, 66 Fairmount St., slumped over the steering wheel of his car near the intersection of Milk and Otis streets around 6:45 Tuesday evening.
At a press conference Wednesday, Worcester District Attorney Worcester District Attorney said the murder was drug related. He asked for the public’s help with the investigation.
Mr. Rivera drove around four blocks from where he was shot before his vehicle stopped, he said. Two or three shots were fired, Mr. Early said, but only one struck and killed Mr. Rivera. Police would not say where the bullet hit him or what kind of car Mr. Rivera was driving.
Police immediately started CPR when they found Mr. Rivera, Mr. Early said. Mr. Rivera was transported to Leominster hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Clifton Park Center (Mostly De-Malled) - Raw & Real Retail
This is our walkthrough of the Clifton Park Center located in Clifton Park, NY from April 16, 2019. This is a mostly de-malled property that is limping along at the end of its life as an enclosed mall. Most of the businesses have been turned outwards, and several buildings have been completely redone to match a lifestyle center sort of motif. The enclosed section really is living on borrowed time, as becomes apparent when walking around the inside, where there is virtually nothing on offer that isn't accessible from the outside.
Check out our ongoing series of dead and dying shopping malls!

Here is some information from Wikipedia:
Clifton Park Center, formerly known as the Clifton Country Mall, is a large retail center, located in Clifton Park, New York. The mall features 72 stores and a food court.
In April 2006, the mall was purchased by DCG Development, a Clifton Park-based development firm. The new developers demolished the mall's northern section (everything north of Marshalls), converting the area into a lifestyle section, consisting of outdoor storefronts, each with individual entrances. The demolitions left both JC Penney and the former Steinbach as stand-alone buildings, separated from the rest of the mall. In August 2009, the former Steinbach was demolished and converted into a stand-alone lifestyle building, consisting of outdoor storefronts with individual entrances. In 2011, the mall's original movie theater and its surrounding area was demolished and replaced with a new “state of the art” 10 screen Regal Cinema and a five-story Hilton Garden Inn.
Here is an anecdote from MallHistory.com:
I have spent the better part of my life watching the Clifton Country Mall rise and fall and I have seen it go from a bustling neighborhood hotspot to a virtual ghost town. The mall opened in 1976 (the U- shaped portion seen below) and was anchored by Denby’s on one end and Mack Drug Store(later CVS) and A&P (later Price Chopper) on the other. Schenectady’s Carl Company Department store also had a large branch in the middle complete with its own restaurant. Early tenants I remember were Ground Round, Kinney Shoes, Corbett Shoes, Kessler, Foxmoor, Consumers, Friendly’s, Lerner, Endicott Johnson, Fanny Farmer, Flah’s, and Thom McAn Shoes. JCPenney opened up shop in the Denby’s space in 1983 and the mall was expanded and renovated in 1984 and a food court, 6-screen cinema, and Caldor were added.
It was at this point I believe that the mall’s owners painted EVERYTHING inside and outside of the mall a bright dingy salmon color that would become old looking with time. The mall’s demise started in 1991 when The Carl Company shut down all of its stores leaving its space empty for two years until Marshalls opened and then things really got bad. Also in the early 1990s Price Chopper relocated to a new supercenter in a strip mall across the street to be replaced by Steinbach. Throughout the 1990s, the mall became dated losing chain stores such as The Gap, Stuarts, Lane Bryant, Limited, and Express and gaining a variety of short- lived mom and pop gift shops. The near apocalypse came in 1999 when Caldor and Steinbach went out of business ON THE SAME DAY! Many smaller stores followed them out leaving the mall’s future in limbo.
In the year 2000, some changes began to take place. The mall’s owners announced a new name “Clifton Park Center” as well as a total mall renovation which took all of the mall’s pink out and a new 2-story Boscov’s Department Store. However the mall was very slow to take off and the wings by JCPenney and the old Steinbach still remain very much vacant. In recent years, the mall has begun to gain some ground with stores such as Klein’s All Sports, American Eagle, Bath & Body Works, and Foot Locker. Already announced for 2004 are Pacific Sunwear and Aeropostale. Malls seem to be going downhill in general, but overall I think this mall is gaining some footing. However much of the mall is hunched up in a tight, small lot which does not make it large enough to leave elbow room for national retailers and chain stores to locate.
