Installation of new flagpoles at #CWGC Thiepval Memorial
Momentous day at #CWGC Thiepval Memorial #France as the new flagpoles are installed as part of the final stages of #restoration.
The flagpoles weigh a remarkable 480 kilos each, and measure 12 metres in height.
The two poles are topped with a British and a French crown, symbolic of Thiepval’s role as both a memorial to the missing of the Somme and an Anglo-French Battle Memorial.

I bought an overnight, 2 day, Eurotunnel ticket in July 2018 to attend GP90 in Leper, Belgium, but did not use it as couldn't go at the time.
I rebooked for when some friends were going to visit the Somme area of France and went on the 2nd June 2019 returning on the 3rd.
It's a long video but I'd only passed through France in the past so this was my first taste of the French countryside. I also wanted to visit Arras on the Monday prior to returning to the UK.
