Driving in rural England

We took routes less travelled from Dartmoor to the Lizard Peninsula. This was one of the many single lane roads (with two way traffic possible) that we used on our trip.

On Sunday 1st August 2010, we went from Bristol all the way to Land's End, Cornwall.

Land's End is more than just the end of the Britain, it's a proper tourist attraction! Thousands of people flock there everyday to stand in front of the famous sign saying it's ONLY 3147 miles to New York and 860 miles to John O'Groats.

It also marks the starting point of a race that takes place here yearly and gives a sense of scale that the UK isn't as small as you think.

3:14 -- The A30 begins to bend more.

3:20 -- Approaching Chiverton Cross Roundabout with signs for Truro, Redruth, St. Agnes and Newquay.

3:52 -- Passing Penzance Heliport.

4:08 -- The A30 narrows to a country road.

4:22 -- Sign for Land's End Aerodrome and Scenic Flights.
