- A giant rock that seems ready to move even now - Named after the fact that it appears to be a 26 m long giant lizard creeping up the cliff, Tokage-iwa (Lizard Rock) is one of Japan's top three strange rock formations, carved over the span of 10,000 years, making you feel the greatness of nature. In the creek along the promenade leading to Tokage-iwa seen from the Lookout, you can find the Oki Salamander, a species endemic to Oki.

The Naked Japanese Robinson | 29 years alone on a desert island
Masafumi Nagasaki, an 82 year old man who has voluntarily lived as a castaway, completely alone on Sotobanari desert island (Iriomote, Yaeyama, Japan)
This Robinson Crusoe wearing a pink towel is now 82 years old and has survived there for 29 years. So he has become the voluntary castaway who has lived the longest time on a desert island.
The only wish of this survivor was to die on his deserted island. Sadly, the Japanese Authorities forced him to return to civilization last month :(
But fortunately we lived 5 beautiful days with him before he was kicked out. You can watch the interview here:
