Britain's 19th century white Muslim lord
BBC North West, 7th October 2013
Henry Edward John Stanley, 3rd Baron Stanley of Alderley and 2nd Baron Eddisbury (11 July 1827 -- 11 December 1903), was a historian who translated The first voyage round the world by Magellan and other works from the Age of Discovery. A convert to Islam, in 1869 Lord Stanley became the first Muslim member of the House of Lords.
As alcohol is forbidden in Islam, he apparently ordered the closure of all public houses on his estate in Nether Alderley, south of Alderley Edge (then named Chorley). Despite his new faith, he funded the restoration on Anglesey of St Mary's Church, Bodewryd, Llanbadrig Church in Cemaes, St Dona's Church, Llanddona and St Peirio's Church, Rhosbeirio.

Llaneilian Walk, Anglesey Coastal Path, Anglesey Coastal Walks In Wales, UK
Llaneilian Walk was about 6.75 miles in distance. The terrain of the route was a combination of coast and field paths; plus some lanes. The walking was easy on level ground or gentle slopes. Route finding was easy with obvious paths, good waymarking and good landmarks. Some of the inland paths can be very muddy in places. There were 7 stiles to negotiate.

Wales Coastal Path Moelfre to Pont Dulas
Beautiful sunny day, spectacular views, secluded beaches, coast and country walking, fine pubs with good beer at either end, made for a perfect walk. However, you need to stop walking to take in the views, as uneven footpaths, stone and root outcrops close to cliff edges make it treacherous for those not sure footed. You need to look down in places not at the view. The tunnels through the bramble, were wasp infested and great care is needed. The beautiful beach a LLugwy Bay, was let down by the approach through the car park spoiled by the litter around the bin, overflowing and smelling. The beach was the perfect spot for a picnic and some sunbathing.
This was a fantastic walk and made for a lovely day out.

Anglesey Prayer Points, 2017
My response to WalesWide prompt to pray for Anglesey because:
There are few gospel-based churches on the island: Amlwch, Beaumaris, Holyhead, Llangefni, Rhosneigr… They are mostly very small with few younger leaders. Pray for them and for more leaders to emerge. Literally hundreds of Christians live on the island but either travel off to the cities for ‘church’ or are not committed anywhere. Pray for an ownership and commitment to the needs of the churches and the gospel on the island. Pray for vibrant gospel witness across all the towns and villages of Anglesey.
