Llanberis North Wales
A fantastic trip to Llanberis Slate Quarry on the 26th May 2012. Absolutely amazed at the amount of equipment still intact in the various workshops in and around the slate quarry.
Drone flight over llanberis and Dolbadarn castle in Snowdonia
Llanberis is a village in Gwynedd, northwest Wales, on the southern bank of the lake Llyn Padarn and at the foot of Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales. It is a popular centre for outdoor activities in Snowdonia, including walking, mountaineering, climbing, mountain biking and pony trekking as well as water sports such as Scuba Diving. The international fell race known as the Snowdon Race (Welsh: Ras Yr Wyddfa) to the summit of Snowdon begins in the village.
Llanberis takes its name from Saint Peris, an early Welsh saint. It is twinned with the Italian town of Morbegno in Lombardy.
The ruins of Dolbadarn Castle, which were famously painted by Richard Wilson and J.M.W. Turner, stand above the village. The 13th century fortress was built by Llywelyn the Great and is a grade I listed building.

Shocking Video of Major Flooding in Wales
Last night’s flooding wreaked havoc across parts of North Wales leaving a trail of destruction in some of the worst flooding seen in years.
Today residents across the hardest hit areas in Beaumaris, Llangefni, Menai Bridge, Rhosneigr, Bangor, Caernarfon and Pwllheli banded work up to find the damage caused by the flood waters.
Emergency services spent the night attending incidents involving water entering homes, businesses and stranded vehicles stuck in floodwater.
Severe flooding in Bangor left many roads nearly impassible - except by 4x4.
Floodwater on the B4409 at Coed y Parc, Bethesda left the road completely under water
And it wasn't the only stretch of road to be doused in water.
Dramatic pictures of the 545 in Anglesey showed a major landslip caused by water cascading onto the road and carrying away a wall in the garden below at Glyn Garth. The road has been left impassable and will need to be closed for some time.
The A5 in Anglesey was grid locked at lunchtime thanks to the flooding at Holland Arms. North Wales Police advised drivers to use the A55 instead after J7 - J7 reopened around 10am, although drivers reported tailbacks three to four miles from Llangeffni.
While wet Weather closed the A4086 Nant Peris Nant Peris village, Llanberis and made it treacherous to pass.
Extreme flooding in Bangor caused chaos on the trains.
Services were cancelled with the Bangor to Holyhead due to the tracks being completely submerged under water.
The Llandudno Junction to Blaenau Ffestiniog line was blocked by water. Arriva Trains Wales operated replacement bus services between Llandudno Junction and Blaenau Ffestiniog and road transport But this was limited between Bangor and Holyhead due to the amount of routes
Virgin Trains were also forced to terminate services at Chester due to flooding on the line between Bangor and Hollyhead and passengers were asked to switch to Arriva train services.
Llangefni was one of the hardest hit areas.
Dramatic pictures and footage was shot in the town centre of the River Cefni bursting its banks and sending a deluge of water into the town centre and hitting shops and businesses.

High winds and rain bring flood misery.
Gale force winds and rain have battered Wales for much of Thursday.
Homes have been flooded and some of main roads were left at a standstill while rescue services worked flat out across the country.
In Llanberis roads were cut off and rescue services went to a school in the town to help children get home.
