Great Orme Tramway - Llandudno North Wales
This video shows our family visit to a historic family attraction in Llandudno, North Wales. We enjoyed exploring the Great Orme Tramway and its views up to the Summit, where we had a bite to eat in the cafe.
We could have taken a picnic, as it was a bit expensive to eat there.
You have to get on two trams to take you up to the summit. You can purchase a family ticket. There is a visitor Centre when you reach the top. You can hop off the tram on the way up if you wish to visit the Bronze age copper mine. That has an addition cost for entry.

Manchester - Chetham's Library
Chetham's Library in Manchester, England, is the oldest free public reference library in the United Kingdom. Chetham's Hospital, which contains both the library and Chetham's School of Music, was established in 1653 under the will of Humphrey Chetham (1580–1653), for the education of the sons of honest, industrious and painful parents, and a library for the use of scholars. The library has been in continuous use since 1653. It operates as an independent charity, open to readers and visitors free of charge. The hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 10am-12pm and 2pm-4pm, 11am and 2pm being full tours. Visitors are picked up from the entrance by staff at the beginning of each hour. Anyone can access the library, however readers and researchers must make an appointment at least one business day in advance.
The library holds more than 100,000 volumes of printed books, of which 60,000 were published before 1851. They include collections of 16th- and 17th-century printed works, periodicals and journals, local history sources, broadsides and ephemera.
Chetham's Library has been accredited by Arts Council England, and is one of 1,800 museums across the nation to have qualified as an institution acting in accordance with Arts Council England's new Designation Scheme. Such designation declares Chetham's Library collections of great national importance.
Paintings featured as a part of the library's vast fine arts collection library include portraits of William Whitaker, the Reverend John Radcliffe, Robert Thyer, the Reverend Francis Robert Raines, and Elizabeth Leigh. An Allegory with Putti and Satyrs, oil on canvas, attributed to sixteenth century artist and Netherlander Vincent Sellaer, is also a prominent part of the Chetham's Library collection.
One of the most substantial collections pertains to Belle Vue Zoo and Gardens, Manchester's most renowned entertainment attraction and zoological center, in operation from the 1830s to the 1980s. The collection contains thousands of posters, programmes and photographs, as well as the financial and business papers of the owner, John Jennison. While collection objects are currently available for review onsite, a 2014 grant of £45,000 obtained by Chetham's Library, allowed curators to make the collection available to online users, via digitization projects.

Public Libraries in Wales / Lyfrgelloedd Cyhoeddus yng Nghymru
Libraries provide essential services which go far beyond lending books, says a National Assembly for Wales committee.
The Communities, Equality and Local Government Committee found that libraries contribute to many areas of community life, including health and wellbeing, education, and tackling poverty and social exclusion.
They can also bridge the 'digital divide' by providing free internet access, something the Committee believes should continue.
Noting an overall growth in visitor numbers to Welsh libraries, the Committee is calling on the Welsh Government and local authorities to do more to promote the wide range of services on offer.
Further recommendations surrounding potential revenue raising opportunities outside of essential services, and co-location, where a number of local authorities' facilities and services are contained on one site, are also included in the Committee's report.
Mae llyfrgelloedd yn darparu gwasanaethau hanfodol sydd yn mynd y tu hwnt i lyfrau, yn ôl un o bwyllgorau Cynulliad Cenedlaethol Cymru.
Yn ôl y Pwyllgor Cymunedau, Cydraddoldeb a Llywodraeth Leol, mae llyfrgelloedd yn cyfrannu llawer at fywyd cymunedol, gan gynnwys addysg, iechyd a lles, trechu tlodi ac allgáu cymdeithasol.
Gallant hefyd bontio'r 'rhaniad digidol' drwy ddarparu mynediad i'r rhyngrwyd am ddim, sef rhywbeth a ddylai barhau, yn ôl y Pwyllgor.
Gan nodi twf cyffredinol yn nifer yr ymwelwyr â llyfrgelloedd Cymru, mae'r Pwyllgor yn galw ar Lywodraeth Cymru ac awdurdodau lleol i wneud mwy i ddarparu'r amrywiaeth eang o wasanaethau sydd ar gynnig.
Mae adroddiad y Pwyllgor hefyd yn cynnwys argymhellion pellach yn ymwneud a chyfleoedd posibl i godi arian y tu allan i wasanaethau hanfodol, a chydleoli, lle caiff nifer o gyfleusterau a gwasanaethau awdurdodau lleol eu cynnwys ar un safle.
