Llanystumdwy Criccieth
Llanystumdwy is a village and community on the Llŷn Peninsula of Gwynedd in Wales, although it is not regarded as being part of Llŷn, but belonging instead to the local region of Eifionydd. It has a population of 1,949, and is located at the point where the A497 between Criccieth to the east, and Pwllheli to the west, crosses the Afon Dwyfor.
The village of stone houses is largely an architectural conservation area that has several listed buildings, including Lloyd George's residences (Tŷ Newydd and Highgate), and the local inn, Tafarn y Plu (also known in English as The Feathers). The Moriah Methodist Chapel is also a grade II* listed building.
Grave of David Lloyd George
The village is where David Lloyd George, the former British Prime Minister, lived until he was 16, and where he picked up his political nous and hatred for the land-owning aristocracy from his laypreacher uncle. His grave in the village was designed by Sir Clough Williams-Ellis (who also designed the village chapel, Capel Moreia) and inscribed by Welsh artist Jonah Jones with a poem by Lloyd George's nephew Dr William George, a former Archdruid of Wales. The Lloyd George Museum is also in the village.
The headquarters of Cadwalader's Ice Cream are located in the village at Parc Amaeth.
The village football team C.P.D Llanystumdwy FC play in the Gwynedd League.
The historical pub 'The Feathers' annually hosts the final for the 'Dirtiest Limerick in Wales' since 2002, with such previous winners as Ross Noble and Griff Rhys Jones taking the top prize.

Steady mainly flat walk, with a couple of beaches thrown in before Pwllheli, then another one after. You are then taken inland for a while, and they throw in a loop up to Llanystumdwy primarily to visit the Lloyd George museum. If you don't fancy that then stay alongside the A497 until you see signs for Aberkin farm on your right, this takes you back to the coast. Then you are almost at the end of the walk in the car park at Criccieth.

SUMMARY
=======
David Lloyd George, 1st Earl Lloyd-George of Dwyfor, (17 January 1863 – 26 March 1945) was a British statesman and Liberal Party politician. He was the last Liberal to serve as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.
As Chancellor of the Exchequer (1908–1915) during H. H. Asquith's tenure as Prime Minister, Lloyd George was a key figure in the introduction of many reforms which laid the foundations of the modern welfare state. His most important role came as the highly energetic Prime Minister of the Wartime Coalition Government (1916–22), during and immediately after the First World War. He was a major player at the Paris Peace Conference of 1919 that reordered Europe after the defeat of the Central Powers. Although he remained Prime Minister after the 1918 general election, the Conservatives were the largest party in the coalition, with the Liberals split between those loyal to Lloyd George, and those still supporting Asquith. He became the leader of the Liberal Party in the late 1920s, but it grew even smaller and more divided. By the 1930s he was a marginalised and widely mistrusted figure. He gave weak support to the war effort during the Secon ...

SUMMARY
=======
Women's suffrage in Wales has historically been marginalised due to the prominence of societies and political groups in England which led the reform for women throughout the United Kingdom. Due to differing social structures and a heavily industrialised working-class society, the growth of a national movement in Wales grew but then stuttered in the late nineteenth century in comparison with that of England. Nevertheless, distinct Welsh groups and individuals rose to prominence and were vocal in the rise of suffrage in Wales and the rest of Great Britain.
In the early twentieth century, Welsh hopes of advancing the cause of female suffrage centred around the Liberal Party and the Chancellor of the Exchequer, David Lloyd George, one of the most important Welsh politicians of the day. After Liberal success in the 1906 Election failed to materialise into political change, suffragettes and in particular members of the more militant Women's Social and Political Union (WSPU), took a hard line stance towards their Members of Parliament, engaging in direct action against them.
Militant action was not a hallmark of the movements in Wales and Welsh members, who more often identified themselves as suffragists, sought Parliamentary and public support through political and peaceful means. In 1918, across the United Kingdom, women over the age of 30 gained the right to vote, followed by the Representation of the People (Equal Franchise) Act 1928 which saw women gain the same rights to vote as men.
