Trawsfynydd in Gwynedd, North Wales. I've been a here a few times for various different comissions over the last few months. The first, for Natural Reosurces Wales, to film and photograph the raised bog just south of the decomissioned nuclear power station; then more recently to photograph a man-made scar on the landscape - the remains of the WW1 army camp and artillery range. In the next few weeks I'll be returning again to film in the mountains to the south west. It's an amazing and incredibly diverse location.

PIKE FISHING with Lures - Trawsfynydd - Wales
Pike fishing with lures on the mighty Trawsfynydd. We have done a few days on this 1200 acre nuclear cooling reservoir before and come into contact with nice Pike.
The Pike fishing we have faced here has been the most challenging we have encounted yet. With our best Pike lures and a good game plan we try and catch ourselves some Pike.
Here at Trawsfynydd you can only use lures and over a certain size for the northern pike fishing. There are some real beasts in this water and this sunken valley in Snowdonia national park has some of the best Pike fishing to offer in the UK.

Ever wondered what's in that deep, dark pond? Charlie Jacoby finds out by draining one of them. He is in Somerset helping a coarse fishery, Higher Farm Lakes, with a problem pond that has sprung a leak. So they empty it with a digger... and there are some big carp in there.

Floatplane on Llyn Trawsfynydd
This floatplane comes from somewhere local, and today did a lot of landings, takeoffs and 'touch and goes' during a Friday morning in late Sept 2018. I saw the same plane in Sept 2017 flying over the lake, but didn't see any landings that time. In this video, the wind meant that it had to approach low over Nant Pasgan. I bet it isn't popular with the fishermen on the lake. My camera does not have the lens to zoom in any closer unfortunately.
