Back in June, Laura Reid and I had the chance to visit Kusadasi. It happened to be one of the stops on our Celestyal cruise trip with Discover Greece! Although we were only in Kusadasi Turkey for a short time, we really got the chance to experience the best parts of the city. Ephesus was by far one of the most impressive sites we visited in all of Greece and Turkey combined and is definitely worth seeing if you have the chance! If you're looking for what to do in Kusadasi, or the best things to see in Kusadasi, this video will help you decide!

Traveling from Kusadasi to Ancient Ephesus - The History of Turkey from our Guide
We departed from Athens by sea and met our guide in Turkey where we traveled from Kusadasi to Ancient Ephesus. In this video, our guide tells us some history of Turkey before we arrive for our tour of Ephesus, the city where Paul the Apostle preached in the synagogue. But the Apostle Paul was not able to preach in the theater due to a silversmith named Demetrius, who made silver shrines of Artemis, a Greek goddess, and caused his fellow tradesmen to riot and shout, “Great is Artemis of the Ephesians!”, causing an uproar in the city and disciples and friends of the Apostle Paul begged him not to venture into the theater. (See the Book of Acts 19 in the Bible.)

It was built in the 10th century BC by Attic and Ionian Greek colonists. During the Classical Greek era it was one of the twelve cities of the Ionian League. #Ephesus, #Turkey: Ancient City of Ephesus - Reconstruction Video - Selcuk, Ephesus, Turkey
More info about travel to Ephesus:
Ephesus (/ˈɛfəsəs/; Greek: Ἔφεσος Ephesos; Turkish: Efes; ultimately from Hittite Apasa) was an ancient Greek city on the coast of Ionia, three kilometres southwest of present-day Selçuk in İzmir Province, Turkey.
It was built in the 10th century BC on the site of the former Arzawan capital by Attic and Ionian Greek colonists. During the Classical Greek era it was one of the twelve cities of the Ionian League.
The city flourished after it came under the control of the Roman Republic in 129 BC. According to estimates, Ephesus had a population of 33,600 to 56,000 people in the Roman period, making it the third largest city of Roman Asia Minor after Sardis and Alexandria Troas.
The city was famed for the Temple of Artemis (completed around 550 BC), one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. In 268 AD, the Temple was destroyed or damaged in a raid by the Goths. It may have been rebuilt or repaired but this is uncertain, as its later history is not clear. Emperor Constantine the Great rebuilt much of the city and erected new public baths. Following the Edict of Thessalonica from Emperor Theodosius I, what remained of the temple was destroyed in 401 AD by a mob led by St. John Chrysostom. The town was partially destroyed by an earthquake in 614 AD. The city's importance as a commercial center declined as the harbor was slowly silted up by the Küçükmenderes River.
Ephesus was one of the seven churches of Asia that are cited in the Book of Revelation.
The Gospel of John may have been written here. The city was the site of several 5th century Christian Councils (see Council of Ephesus). It is also the site of a large gladiators' graveyard. The ruins of Ephesus are a favourite international and local tourist attraction, partly owing to their easy access from Adnan Menderes Airport.

The city was famed for the nearby Temple of Artemis (completed around 550 BC), one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The Greek goddess Artemis and the great Anatolian goddess Kybele were identified together as Artemis of Ephesus. The many-breasted Lady of Ephesus, identified with Artemis, was venerated in the Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of the World and the largest building of the ancient world according to Pausanias .
Pausanias mentions that the temple was built by Ephesus, son of the river god Caystrus, before the arrival of the Ionians. Of this structure, scarcely a trace remains
Among many other monumental buildings are the Library of Celsus, and a theatre capable of holding 25,000 spectators.
The city was destroyed by the Goths in 263, and although rebuilt, the city's importance as a commercial centre declined as the harbour was slowly silted up by the Küçükmenderes River. It was partially destroyed by an earthquake in 614 AD.

Our next point to see was Kusadasi town-- -(Kusadasi, a Turkish port off the Aegean Sea is translated as Bird Island, due to how the peninsula that it is situated on looks from the sea – like a bird’s head above sea level)
. The primary reason for people going to Kusadasi is its glorious beaches, busy nightlife and its strategic position to many historical sites like the ruins of Ephesus. Everything in Kusadasi is more or less driven towards tourism; it’s the main source of income.
Kuşadası is a resort town on Turkey's Aegean coast, and the center of the seaside district of the same name within Aydın Province. Kuşadası is 95 km (59 mi) south of İzmir, and 71 km (44 mi) from Aydın.
The municipality's primary industry is tourism.Kuşadası caters to tourists arriving by land, or from the port for cruise ship passengers heading to Ephesus. As much i could remember,we visited a carpet center in Kusadasi.Turkey hand made carpets were woven and selling there at high price but the welcome- treat was really warm.
