HOW to visit ICE CAVES in ICELAND, 2019 | 4K
In this episode I'll share all the information I have on Ice Caves in Iceland. How to get to the ice caves and how to photograph the ice caves. Ice cave season is from November until and through March. Out of season the caves are too dangerous to enter. Ice caves and glaciers are extremely dangerous and that's why you have to get yourself a glacier guide. Vatnajokull Glacier. Set out from Vik with Iceland Glacier Guides. Tour was during the mid-afternoon.
Iceland-Vatnajokull National Park
Vatnajökull National Park is one of three national parks in Iceland. It encompasses all of Vatnajökull glacier and extensive surrounding areas. These include the national parks previously existing at Skaftafell in the southwest and Jökulsárgljúfur in the north.
In general, national parks are protected areas which are considered unique because of their nature or cultural heritage. The unique qualities of Vatnajökull National Park are primarily its great variety of landscape features, created by the combined forces of rivers, glacial ice, and volcanic and geothermal activity.

Ice Caves in Iceland
The ice cave tour is a unique and amazing experience you could have in Iceland. No ice cave stays the same, they are constantly evolving and their compelling dynamism, as well as their great beauty, is central to their appeal.
Ice caves are rare phenomena that form naturally. The ice caves are a long time in the making. Each fall, after the meltwater of spring, has begun to freeze, local guides from the area hunt for new ice caves. This is why the location of the caves change every year and every ice cave is unique and newly formed.

Your Iceland Tour Guide: Adolf Ingi Erlingsson from Arctic Adventures
Can’t get enough of our tour guide interview series? You’re in luck, because today we’re profiling one of the best. Adolf Ingi Erlingsson, a Reykjavik native, takes groups of lucky travellers around Iceland with Arctic Adventures, and today, you have the opportunity to see what it’s like on one of his tours.
The rough roads of Iceland are no trouble for Adolf, who made a change a couple of years ago when he left the media industry and his position as a sports reporter to drive for Arctic Adventures. According to him, the real challenge in his new dream job is keeping groups happy, and making sure he understands what everyone needs.
One of the best parts of exploring Iceland is the fact that adventure is absolutely everywhere! Adolf agrees, and loves taking his travellers on activities that get their hearts pumping. It makes the tour more fun, brings the group together, and Adolf enjoys the adventure of sharing his home country with travellers from all over the world.
The best part of being a tour guide in Iceland? Being able to meet people excited about travel and happy about exploring a new place! Whether it’s hiking glaciers or investigating an ice cave, Adolf loves to be around people having a great time. And, trust us - if you’re travelling Iceland with Adolf, it’s going to be a good time! As long as you remember that a sighting of the Northern Lights can be a question of luck rather than timing; as Adolf says, “we don’t have a switch!”
We love Adolf because he embodies the spirit of fun and adventure travellers experience when they visit Iceland. If he seems like the kind of person you’d like to travel with, or if you can’t resist the call of the Land of Fire and Ice for any longer, head over to TourRadar to check out this tour’s itinerary or find the perfect one for you!

Iceland During Winter Trip
Just a couple of videos from my phone on a short Iceland vacation. I took the a 2 day south coast tour that included a Trip to an Ice cave near Hofn. Also took a Golden Circle bus ride on another day. I would recommend taking tours during the winter because of Icy roads and short amount of daylight. The tour whizzed me around to all the cool destinations maximizing the time with light. Also learned a lot of facts about Iceland from the guides and Iceland is an intriguing place. If you were driving through there, you would want to stop about every 10 minutes because everything looks so cool and then you would run out of light. Probably not a problem in the summer when there are 20+ hours of daylight
Arctic Adventures - Vik, Island - Glacier Cave Tour
February 2019 - Glacier Cave tour - Long Version
[a short 3 minute version is available on the channel ].
The version has all of the tour operator's commentary during the trip!
We booked with Arctic Adventures and what an amazing adventure it was! Professional outfit, wonderful personality driving the super jeep, driving through an icy racing river 4' deep! Crazy in a good way.
This was one the major highlights of our trip!
Love the little town of Vik, great restaurants and shopping :-) all within walking distance! We rented the cutest little air BNB cottage right near the water.
The glacier is like nothing i had ever seen. The unique color of blue had me feeling like i just discovered a whole new form of beauty and admiration. For me, it was truly an amazing thing.
I'll be back to Iceland, and to Vik, i feel it in my bones.

TOUR of NORTHERN ICELAND! (AKUREYRI, GODAFOSS, MYVATAN, and DETTIFOSS) ????????2018 vlog
Welcome to Northern Iceland! In this vlog, we embark on a day trip adventure with Air Iceland Connect to see the otherworldly volcanic landscapes and waterfalls in Iceland's northern region.
This tour is for nature lovers and is best to explore during summer. We fly from Reykjavik to Akureyri, a 45-minute flight. We take a full day 10 hour guided tour that includes transportation. Our first stop is the stunning waterfall of Goðafoss.
We travel to Lake Myvatn´s unique nature and pseudo-craters, followed by the Dimmuborgir lava labyrinth. One of the top sights is bubbling Hverarond (aka Hverir), a geothermal area noted for its bubbling pools of mud & steaming fumaroles emitting sulfuric gas. The desolate landscape looks like mars.
Next, we reach one of the main highlights - Dettifoss which is Europe´s most powerful waterfall featured in the movie Prometheus. Next, we visit the volcanic wonderlands of Vatnajokull National Park, Jokulsargljufur canyon, Hljodaklettar (Echo cliffs), Asbyrgi a horse-shoe-shaped cliff formation. We finish our tour in the quaint Husavik fishing town. Lastly, we head to Akureyri to fly back to Reykjavik!
