Visiting the Australian Institute for Sport in Canberra
Why Sport Matters went to the capital of Australia to visit the famous Australian Institute for Sport (AIS) in Canberra. Thanks to heavy subsidies from the Australian government, the country now boasts one of the world's best athlete training and sport science facilities. The results speak for themselves as Australia continues to produce world class athletes, Olympic medals, and world championship teams, all in a country with a population of only 20 million.

Religious Seminar in Australia: Focusing on the Current Situation of Religious Persecution in China
On April 4, 2018, a seminar was held at the Chapel of the Australian Centre for Christianity and Culture in Canberra at 3 p.m. local time, the topic of which is Religion and the State in the People’s Republic of China. During the seminar, the current difficulties faced by China’s religious beliefs under the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP’s) dictatorial rule were discussed. Many renowned professors and scholars from the UK, the US and Italy were invited and attended this seminar, and some of them delivered speeches, in which they talked about the current situation of religious persecution in China. Some scholars and professors revealed the facts of the CCP’s brutal persecution of The Church of Almighty God (CAG), and appealed to people to focus on the problems encountered by CAG Christians when they apply for asylum.

Harmonics Canberra's Connections to World Capitals
Canberra in the A.C.T (Australian capital Territory) is the equivalent of Washington D.C (District of Columbia) in the USA, Brasilia F.D (Federal District) of Brazil and Astana in the Akmola Provice of Kazakhstan.
These 4 cities are national capitals sharing many esoteric aspects and many of these can be measured.
With connections to Freemasonry, the Anthroposophical Society and other occult groups through it's architects- Walter Burley Griffina nd Marion Mahoney Griffin. Evidence of this can also be seen in the city plan. As is also plain is the sacred geometry and many other ancient-mystical aspects.

Jai Shri Mataji!
Thank you, Divine Mother, Shri Mataji for giving us the opportunity to spread Your message across the land of Shri Ganesha through the Meditate Australia Tour. Thank you, dear local and international yogis, for all your enthusiasm and support in being Her pure instruments on this collective journey of growth. With over 150 programs held across the 3 weeks, Shri Mataji gave well over 2500 realisations across the nation through her many capable hands. We had 70 yogis on Tour from Australia and around the world, hosted in the care of several local yogis. The project concluded at Wamuran Ashram near Brisbane, with a very special puja to our Mother, in the form of Shri Ganesha and Shri Adi Guru.
Southern Route 3 weeks, 5 regions, 14 yogis, 350+ seekers
Adelaide had given the Southern Route an initial boost to kickstart the tour in the right direction - their desire and dedication pushing us to rise higher. The joy and empowerment of the collective and the tour participants carried onto Geelong which was a particular highlight for many of the MAT members. This was further established in Tasmania where we had successful programs and noticed great potential to rekindle something amazing here, something that has dwindled since the early days of Sahaj.
The Southern Route culminated with back-to-back programs in Melbourne, where we mustered all of our energy to establish a strong presence all around the city. This route, in particular, was more than just about giving realisation, it was about supporting smaller collectives, bonding with yogis and re-establishing lost connections so Sahaja Yoga can flourish in every part of Australia.
Eastern Route 3 weeks, 10 regions, 21 yogis, 780+ seekers
We started off in Canberra with a powerful havan, to clear all potential obstacles to the tour before setting out to do programs. One after the other, we kept going. Dances and performances. Seekers coming in, realisations being given. Some who came for one program kept coming to our other ones too! Next, at Wollongong, the torrential rain and strong vibrations gave all of us a much-needed clear out.
We then presented a series of programs across Sydney - Corporate programs with NSW Health, Hornsby Hospital, Baulkham Hills, Ultimo, and Cronulla. We also hosted a concert-style program in Leichhardt with the Cross-Country Route and had an incredible turnout! It was a lovely experience being able to present in collaboration with two routes and the local collective. Once we headed up to Central Coast, it was more excitement and joy as we had already reached a count of 500 realisations!
Cross Country Route 3 weeks, 11 regions, 19 yogis, 500+ seekers
The Cross Country route had its work cut out nicely between WA, NSW and QLD over the three weeks. We spent our first week on the west coast, welcoming our guests at Gidgegannup Ashram and presenting multiple workshops in Perth and south-west WA. Through meditation and music, we attracted seekers in libraries, universities, bookshops and other community centres. In Margaret River, we had a spontaneous program for little children which left all confused faces beaming with joy by the end. The Perth Townhall featured our A Mother For All exhibition to the public for a full week, and a big joyful concert at the end!
We flew across the country that night, joining forces with the eastern route for 2 days of programs in Sydney. In Penrith, we had a full-day intensive program where we taught seekers how to use foot soaks, candling, bija mantras and other clearing techniques. In the Blue Mountains, we did two programs: one at the wild valley art gallery and at the other in Katoomba’s Cultural Centre, before making our way up to Orange and Tamworth.
Northern Route 3 weeks, 8 regions, 16 yogis, 550+ seekers
Travelling along the coast from tropical Cairns to Brisbane, we presented Sahaja Yoga workshops to seekers at workplaces, community spaces, galleries, beaches, esplanades and cafes. In Cairns, our programs attracted 300+ seekers in four days! One lady said she had only meant to duck out to get some milk but ended up staying for an entire 3-hour musical program!
With all our love and respect, THE MEDITATE AUSTRALIA TEAM

World Record Canberra Christmas Lights Display Video
Footage taken in December 2011 at Forrest, ACT Australia at Mr and Mrs David and Janean Richard's residence. Last years display was recorded by Guinness World Records as the Most Christmas Lights on a Residential Property with a total of approximately 331,038 LED lights.
The signs shown at the beginning and end of the clip is the SIDs and Kids logo. The Richards family support this organisation and charity by asking for a gold coin donation ($1-$2) to enter the drive way and walk through the light tunnel (normally the Richards drive through driveway)
SIDs and Kids ( are an Australian not-for-profit organisation that is dedicated to saving babies and children's lives through the elimination of sudden and unexpected infant deaths during pregnancy, birth and childhood, supporting bereaved families and funding research into stillbirth.
The amount of power consumed is unavoidable, though would be comparable to heating a large private swimming pool during winter. The power consumed is somewhat mitigated with the use of LED bulbs that burncold and reduce the overall amount of power drawn. The local electricity and utility provider, ActewlAGL (actelagl.com.au) actually foot the bill for the power consumed by the light display considering the nature and spirit in which the light display is organised.
The light display is active for about 2 weeks after David completes the display (around the 2nd week of December, and David spends over a month on the preparation) and there are about 5-10 days were the display is open to the public after dark. The display is not on all night for aviation safety reasons (TIC) and for good neighbourhood relationships in the area.
David is taking a break this year (2012) and not pulling the Christmas light crates out, but the display may be back in 2013...

Fuel Security - Hugli Spirit Protest
The Maritime Union of Australia (MUA) is angry to see the final voyage of the Hugli Spirit, with 36 Australian crew on board.
The crew agreed to sail the vessel on Monday morning, after a tense 24 hour standoff, ahead of scheduled high level meetings between the union and Teekay to discuss Temporary Licence cargo and the possibility of that cargo being carried by the Hugli Spirit or a replacement vessel.
MUA Assistant National Secretary Warren Smith said the vessel and its predecessors have ensured the supply of fuel to the Queensland coast for over 50 years.
“In recent weeks, the crew of the Hugli Spirit have learnt that the ship will be removed from service and replaced with foreign vessels, with crew on as little as $2 an hour.
“It is also likely that conditions onboard are likely to be far below first world standards and we know that environmental safeguards could be all but non-existent. The Great Barrier. Reef is precious and must be protected with the highest safety standards, ” Mr Smith said.
“The ongoing closure of refineries around Australia means we now import 91 per cent of our petrol and diesel – up from 60 per cent in 2000 – and this number will continue to rise with the possible closure of Queensland’s two remaining refineries in the near future.
MUA Queensland Branch secretary Mick Carr said LNP Governments in Queensland and Canberra needed to lift their game.
“More than half of Australia's fuel comes through the Straits of Hormuz to Singapore and then through the narrow Straits of Malacca, an area already notorious for its piracy,” Mr Carr said.
“People in regional Queensland already pay more for their fuel – certainly more than in Brisbane – and this will get worse as more and more fuel comes from overseas.”
“There is currently a Senate holding an inquiry into fuel security but so far the Abbott and Newman Governments have done nothing.
“Why won’t Campbell Newman stand up to Canberra and act in the national interest, let alone protect local jobs and the pristine environment of the Great Barrier Reef?”
Campbell Newman’s own Department of State Development, Infrastructure and Planning has said in its submission that consumer prices could go up if nothing is done.
