AMAZING Burger in boulder Colorado. (BCFT #5)
Today I went out on a mission to film a lunch video at my favorite place to grab a quick, high quality, farm to table meal in boulder. Blackbelly market, run by top chef season 5 winner Hosea Rosenberg, this gem for lunch is relatively unknown even among the main restaurant's patrons.
One the menu are a veriety of tantalizing breakfast and lunch options, of which my personal favorite, is the closest thing you can get to their dinner burger (My absolute favorite burger in the entire world, but not really the kind of environment I'm comfortable filming at the moment.)
Their Carter county burger, with local bacon, fresh ground beef, and standard fixings, is to die for, and an absolute bomb of flavor every time I've had it. If you've got other hankerings, check out their website down below, they've got a great breakfast and lunch menu, before they close up and prepare to open the main restaurant.
Definitely hit this place up if you're in the area and looking for amazing food.
Boulder taco trucks, finding the best authentic street taco in boulder colorado
This was a fun one to film, but what else do you expect when filming involves just wandering around a beautiful city eating a bunch of tacos? From Canyon and 15th, to far east boulder city, I found some amazing authentic, and not so authentic, taco trucks. With flavor profiles ranging from a real taste of mexican street food, to taco tuesday and grandma smith's. All jokes aside, each of these places was a joy to eat at, and none of them deserve too much flack. Even if I didn't quite manage to find a 10/10 taco, there was a couple close calls there, and as homogeneous as boulder's food scene can seem at times, I think I show pretty well that there are authentic options out there if you're willing to go and find it.

If you've got other awesome places you think I should have tried, let me know in the comments, I'm always looking for authentic examples of regional street foods, ethnic cuisines, or just good old fashioned delicious food.
Coming next week, New mexico videos should start to come in, and my new website should be launched, from which I'll be food vlogging to start, and potentially doing more as time goes on.
Merit Award Winner: The RMH Group – Breckenridge Brewery and Farm House Restaurant
After multiple years of double-digit growth, Breckenridge Brewery outgrew it iconic brewery facility on Kalamath Street in Denver. Increased demand for its products and the need to provide more expansive dining amenities for local customers, the brewery began planning for a new 79, 150 square foot - three building complex to be located on a new 12-acre site in Littleton. The RMH Group was engaged as the project’s mechanical and electrical engineer for a brew house building with a brewing area, raw material storage, administrative area and tasting room – a production building housing a fermentation process area, bottling/canning and kegging areas, barrel cellar, barrel aging room, product storage and quality control lab – and a restaurant building.
H-VAC systems required sophisticated multiple heating and cooling zones to ensure that ambient conditions met the individual requirements of the processes contained within each space. Integrated building controls were implemented for the entire site to precisely control and monitor building temperature and humidity and to trend data over time. Controlling temperature and humidity in process spaces was complicated by a project goal to minimize energy consumption through low-energy-use H-VAC systems such as natural ventilation.

Green Up Denver: Festivals and you!
The Cherry Creek Arts Festival (CCAF) is dedicated to providing sustainably-based arts experiences, and our long-term goal is to achieve Zero Waste on site, as part of Green Up Denver. In this video, Green Up Denver talks about this historic effort and how the participating festivals seek 1,000 volunteers. The festivals leading the efforts are CCAF, People's Fair, Pridefest and Denver County Fair.
CCAF is partnering with ZeroHero, Inc., and it is their largest effort by number of attendees (over 100,000) for the company to date. This year, 75 three-stream receptacles will be on-site and personally manned for recycling, composting and landfill sorting.
CCAF is also working with We Don't Waste to provide leftover food to Denver's under served populations.
CCAF seeks an all-new need of 300 volunteers for Green Up Cherry Arts, called the pit crew, and it will be part of the larger Green Up Denver volunteer base of community volunteers dedicated to sustainability.

The Face of Hunger in Colorado
New Image Brewery, Arvada - Colorado
New Image Brewery in Arvada, Colorado..........
Passion: We fell in love with beer initially as an art form and then as a unique way of bringing people together
STORY
Our journey began with a process engineering job at Anheuser-Busch, and what started as a fascination with the scientific principles of brewing quickly evolved to include a passion for the artistry of crafting beer. We spent the next few years honing recipes at home and working in Atlanta craft breweries to learn more about professional craft brewing.
In 2013, an opportunity emerged to help start a brewery in Pittsburgh, where we began producing our beer commercially and experienced first-hand the impact that a small brewery can have on a local community. These experiences re-affirmed our belief that our passion for craft beer could act as a catalyst for impacting a community – a belief that guided us to launch New Image Brewing Company in Arvada, Colorado.
PURPOSE
At New Image, we have united our love of brewing and with our desire to curate community by creating a brewpub with an emphasis on social dining. As a part of our commitment to positively impact the people we serve, we are dedicated to a cause that we care deeply about and that affects nearly everyone we come in contact with, the continued support of mental wellness. We strive to foster a sense of community in everything we do, to encourage open discussion among friends and family, and to invest in organizations that positively impact our community. We have experienced the impact of this kind of support in our own lives, and now we seek to scale the experience and to impact the community that we are honored to be a part of.

The Farm-to-table Marijuana Experience is Here
If you live in a state where marijuana is illegal, you don't typically get to ask your dealer if your weed was grown consciously. What type of pesticides were used during the process of growing these plants? Where exactly where they grown? When was this plant harvested? These questions may sound ridiculous to people who don't live in Alaska, Colorado, Washington state and the District of Columbia, where recreational marijuana is legal. But for marijuana enthusiasts who do live in those areas, asking your budtender specifics about the plants you're about to purchase is the norm. Devin Liles, vice president of production at The Farm, a recreational marijuana dispensary in Boulder, Colorado said, I think a regulated market is safer for everyone, You know where it comes from — you know where it was grown.

Mass Balance Change over India from GRACE [1080p]
This animation shows the average yearly change in mass, in cm of water, during 2003-2010, over the Indian subcontinent. The yellow circles mark locations of glaciers. There is significant mass loss in this region (denoted by the blue and purple colors), but it is concentrated over the plains south of the glaciers, and is caused by groundwater depletion. A colorbar overlay shows the range of values displayed.
----------
In the first comprehensive satellite study of its kind, a University of Colorado Boulder-led team used NASA data to calculate how much Earth's melting land ice is adding to global sea level rise.
Using satellite measurements from the NASA/German Aerospace Center Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment (GRACE), the researchers measured ice loss in all of Earth's land ice between 2003 and 2010, with particular emphasis on glaciers and ice caps outside of Greenland and Antarctica. The total global ice mass lost from Greenland, Antarctica and all Earth's glaciers and ice caps over the period studied was about 4.3 trillion tons (1,000 cubic miles), adding about 12 millimeters (0.5 inches) to global sea level. That's enough ice to cover the United States 1.5 feet (0.5 meters) deep.
About a quarter of the average annual ice loss came from glaciers and ice caps outside of Greenland and Antarctica (about 148 billion tons, or 39 cubic miles), while ice loss from Greenland and Antarctica and their peripheral ice caps and glaciers averaged roughly 385 billion tons (100 cubic miles) a year. Results of the study are published online Feb. 8 in the journal Nature.
Earth is losing a huge amount of ice to the ocean annually, and these new results will help us answer important questions in terms of both sea rise and how the planet's cold regions are responding to global change, said University of Colorado Boulder physics professor John Wahr, who helped lead the study.
The strength of GRACE is it sees all the mass in the system, even though its resolution isn't high enough to allow us to determine separate contributions from each individual glacier, said Wahr, also a fellow at the University of Colorado-headquartered Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences. Traditional estimates of Earth's ice caps and glaciers have been made using ground measurements from relatively few glaciers to infer what all the world's unmonitored glaciers were doing. Only a few hundred of the roughly 200,000 glaciers worldwide have been monitored for longer than a decade.
One unexpected study result from GRACE was that the estimated ice loss from high Asian mountain ranges like the Himalaya, the Pamir and the Tien Shan was only about 4 billion tons of ice annually. Some previous ground-based estimates of ice loss in these high Asian mountains have ranged up to 50 billion tons annually, Wahr said.
The GRACE results in this region really were a surprise, said Wahr. One possible explanation is that previous estimates were based on measurements taken primarily from some of the lower, more accessible glaciers in Asia and were extrapolated to infer the behavior of higher glaciers. But unlike the lower glaciers, most of the high glaciers are located in very cold environments, and require greater amounts of atmospheric warming before local temperatures rise enough to cause significant melting. This makes it difficult to use low-elevation, ground-based measurements to estimate results from the entire system.
This study finds that the world's small glaciers and ice caps in places like Alaska, South America and the Himalayas contribute about 0.4 millimeters (.02 inches) per year to sea level rise, said Tom Wagner, cryosphere program scientist at NASA Headquarters in Washington. While this is lower than previous estimates, it confirms that ice is being lost from around the globe, with just a few areas in precarious balance. The results sharpen our view of land ice melting, which poses the biggest, most threatening factor in future sea level rise.
