Delicious Iceland - Autumn adventure in the east of Iceland
Chef Völli starts this episode by going to the village of Hofn i Hornafjörður, where some local fisherman’s are fishing mackerel. They are also smoking the mackerel and he grabs a few with him and heads to the kitchen were he makes two beautiful dishes out of the fish. Next he heads to the eastern part of Iceland where he first meets up with a mushroom expert that shows him a thing or two about mushrooms. He then goes bramble berry picking before heading to Hotel Hallormsstaður where his friend Þráinn is the manager. Þráinn is also a chef and likes to experiment with different things, he shows Völli his birch syrup that he’s making and then he makes a risotto from the brambleberries and the mushrooms. He also shows Völli how he’s smoking Reindeer meat and cooks an incredibly tasty dish from freshly smoke meat and other local ingredients–such as the risotto he just made.
His next destination is a village called Hella. Apples are not commonly grown in Iceland – mostly due to the cold weather but some farmers have managed to do just so and Chef Völli goes to visit one of them. He then picks a few to take to his kitchen where he makes a delicious dessert using the apples he just picked.

ICELANDLOCALFOODGUIDE SMYRLABJORG RESTAURANT HORNAFJORDUR
SMYRLABJORG RESTAURANT HORNAFJORDUR.
The farmhotel Smyrlabjörg in the region of Hornafjörður is very different from most hotels. The farmers who run the hotel have become quite well known around the country for their incredibly diverse buffet, where they serve local dishes from different farms around the hotel and the fishermen at Höfn in Hornafjörður.
And with every dish you get the story of where it comes from. The diversity is great and everything tastes good.

Cleaning up in Talknafjordur
Located in the Westfjords of Iceland, Talknafjordur, and its population of about 300 people, welcomed our group of SEEDS volunteers. The task at hand was to prepare the town for the upcoming Westfjords history and culture festival, as well as enjoy the festival itself, and then help clean up afterwards!
During their stay, out volunteers had access to the swimming pool, hot pots, the fjord's ocean water, and a vehicle to allow them to visit local attractions. Some of which included Dynjandi, Raudasandur, and Latrabjarg! It was a great camp for all, especially those interested in cultural aspects of remote, isolated communities.

NDBA 2018 D1 wm
Day one of the NDBA held at the Orion Mont Aux Sources Hotel in the northern Drakensberg. NDBA stands for Natal Dual Bike Adventure and is an event for the more adventurous riders of road legal dual sport and adventure bikes. The organisers do a number of reconnaissance rides before the event to produce green, red and black routes. They also meet with local tribal authorities and farmers to gain permission for the right of passage through their land for the event. I had planned to do the ride on my KTM 525 but was persuaded to take the KTM 990 Adventure instead. Hauling the old girl around some very tight terrain was particularly challenging on day two's black route. This day, day one, was not very technical but was escalated in difficulty by heavy rainfall which turned Bezuidenhout's Pass into a muddy quagmire...
Lambrook's Year 8's Visit Iceland
Over half term our intrepid Year 8's visited Iceland. They enjoyed scorching plunge pools and steam rooms, learned about the local economy with visits to a geothermal power station and local brewery, and explored Iceland’s wilderness from volcanoes to crystal clear glaciers and thundering waterfalls. They even saw the Northern Lights!
Small Icelandic Towns #5 - Old and New Houses in Hafnarfjörður
Hafnarfjörður is Iceland's third largest town, with a population of over 29.800 where daily life and culture thrives in the middle of an old lava field. The town retains its small-town air, its rural aura and its heart - which is not surprising given that the it prides itself on the largest unbroken neighborhood of corrugated iron-clad timber houses in Iceland.
Enjoy this winter drive after first snowfall in 2019 where i take you trough the diverse building history, starting in the town center from where we move into the oldest part and from there into more recent neighborhoods, and end by the docks.
For me personally it's always a pleasure to visit Hafnarfjörður. Even the town is a part of the capital area, it has it's own soul and people from there distinct them from rest of the capital area and want to be able to seek all service locally. It's something that the people from the other towns that create the capital area usually do since it's hard to see whan you are in Reykjavik or the surrounding towns of Garðabær, Kópavogur, Seltjarnarnes and of course Hafnarfjörður with it's own soul.

Automotive lighting
The lighting system of a motor vehicle consists of lighting and signalling devices mounted or integrated to various parts of a motor vehicle. These may include the front, sides, rear and, in some cases, the top of the vehicle. The purpose of this system is to provide illumination for the driver. This enables safe vehicle operation after dark and increases the conspicuity of the vehicle. It also informs of the vehicle's presence, position, size, direction of travel, and the driver's intentions regarding direction and speed of travel.

Odyssey Outrageous | OctoDad: Dadliest Catch | How to be an Octopus!! Part 1. Tragen plays as Octodad. The kids really like this game. It is absurd and fun!
Playlist:
Octodad: Dadliest Catch is the sequel to the splash hit, Octodad! This time, our cephaloprotagonist has gotten himself in a bind between his wife’s mounting mistrust, and a disastrous trip to the local aquarium! Are you dad enough to control the titular octopus father as he strives to hide his nautical nature from his family while keeping his tangled tentacles intact?
It is a sequel to the 2010 freeware game Octodad. The game consists of controlling the protagonist Octodad in completing chores typical of the mundane suburban father, but complicated by the fact that he is an octopus in disguise.
Developer: Young Horses
Song Octodad (Nobody Suspects a Thing) by Ian McKinney.

The Great Gildersleeve: Christmas Shopping / Gildy Accused of Loafing / Christmas Stray Puppy
Premiering on August 31, 1941, The Great Gildersleeve moved the title character from the McGees' Wistful Vista to Summerfield, where Gildersleeve now oversaw his late brother-in-law's estate and took on the rearing of his orphaned niece and nephew, Marjorie (originally played by Lurene Tuttle and followed by Louise Erickson and Mary Lee Robb) and Leroy Forester (Walter Tetley). The household also included a cook named Birdie. Curiously, while Gildersleeve had occasionally spoken of his (never-present) wife in some Fibber episodes, in his own series the character was a confirmed bachelor.
In a striking forerunner to such later television hits as Bachelor Father and Family Affair, both of which are centered on well-to-do uncles taking in their deceased siblings' children, Gildersleeve was a bachelor raising two children while, at first, administering a girdle manufacturing company (If you want a better corset, of course, it's a Gildersleeve) and then for the bulk of the show's run, serving as Summerfield's water commissioner, between time with the ladies and nights with the boys. The Great Gildersleeve may have been the first broadcast show to be centered on a single parent balancing child-rearing, work, and a social life, done with taste and genuine wit, often at the expense of Gildersleeve's now slightly understated pomposity.
Many of the original episodes were co-written by John Whedon, father of Tom Whedon (who wrote The Golden Girls), and grandfather of Deadwood scripter Zack Whedon and Joss Whedon (creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Firefly and Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog).
The key to the show was Peary, whose booming voice and facility with moans, groans, laughs, shudders and inflection was as close to body language and facial suggestion as a voice could get. Peary was so effective, and Gildersleeve became so familiar a character, that he was referenced and satirized periodically in other comedies and in a few cartoons.

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain

SUMMARY
=======
Bristol ( (listen)) is a city and county in South West England with a population of 459,300. The wider district has the 10th-largest population in England. The urban area population of 724,000 is the 8th-largest in the UK. The city borders North Somerset and South Gloucestershire, with the cities of Bath and Gloucester to the south-east and north-east, respectively. South Wales lies across the Severn estuary.
Iron Age hill forts and Roman villas were built near the confluence of the rivers Frome and Avon, and around the beginning of the 11th century the settlement was known as Brycgstow (Old English the place at the bridge). Bristol received a royal charter in 1155 and was historically divided between Gloucestershire and Somerset until 1373, when it became a county of itself. From the 13th to the 18th century, Bristol was among the top three English cities after London in tax receipts. Bristol was surpassed by the rapid rise of Birmingham, Manchester and Liverpool in the Industrial Revolution.
Bristol was a starting place for early voyages of exploration to the New World. On a ship out of Bristol in 1497 John Cabot, a Venetian, became the first European since the Vikings to land on mainland North America. In 1499 William Weston, a Bristol merchant, was the first Englishman to lead an exploration to North America. At the height of the Bristol slave trade, from 1700 to 1807, more than 2,000 slave ships carried an estimated 500,000 people from Africa to slavery in the Americas. The Port of Bristol has since moved from Bristol Harbour in the city centre to the Severn Estuary at Avonmouth and Royal Portbury Dock.
Bristol's modern economy is built on the creative media, electronics and aerospace industries, and the city-centre docks have been redeveloped as centres of heritage and culture. The city has the largest circulating community currency in the UK—the Bristol pound, which is pegged to the Pound sterling. The city has two universities, the University of Bristol and the University of the West of England, and a variety of artistic and sporting organisations and venues including the Royal West of England Academy, the Arnolfini, Spike Island, Ashton Gate and the Memorial Stadium. It is connected to London and other major UK cities by road and rail, and to the world by sea and air: road, by the M5 and M4 (which connect to the city centre by the Portway and M32); rail, via Bristol Temple Meads and Bristol Parkway mainline rail stations; and Bristol Airport.
One of the UK's most popular tourist destinations, Bristol was selected in 2009 as one of the world's top ten cities by international travel publishers Dorling Kindersley in their Eyewitness series of travel guides. The Sunday Times named it as the best city in Britain in which to live in 2014 and 2017, and Bristol al ...
