Smoking like a Local - Cuban Cigar Tour in Havana
We had a chance to visit a local tobacco farm in Vinales, Cuba near Havana where the best tobacco in the world is grown! Benito harvests the world's most superior Cuban cigars. He showed us how to roll (and smoke) a real Cuban cigar and we drank white coffee together, but I think it's his fun and quirky personality that makes us want to return. Havana, Cuba in a Day - via the Norwegian Sun
A short video of our full day trip to Havana, Cuba. We booked a full day tour through Locally Sourced Havana Tours. We did the Private tour for just my wife and I. Our guide was Aniel and both the guide and tour were excellent for the price ( the tour includes everything you see in the video with the exception of the extra drinks during the rain delay and the tip for our guide ) We met many many local Cuban people and they are all very happy and pleasant.

Havana, Cuba's Urban Farmers
This video documents the rise of Havana's urban agriculture sector after the collapse of the Soviet Union and how it has changed to adapt to new circumstances over time.
Havana sees boom in privately run bars as part of latest economic reforms
The Cuban capital is seeing a boom in stylish, privately-run bars and clubs, the latest manifestation of President Raul Castro's economic reforms which aim to inject life into the country's moribund economy by permitting some private-sector activity.
These new entrepreneurs are competing to attract a rare but relatively affluent clientele, an emerging Yuppie middle class with disposable income to blow on a night out.
Tourists and foreigners living in Cuba are the most obvious examples of customers who can afford places like El Cocinero, a chic rooftop bar that has arguably become Havana's hippest watering hole in the year since it opened, and there's no getting in without a reservation.
Cuba's jet-set pack the place, sipping mojitos costing three US dollars and talking art, culture and politics against a backdrop of mellow hip-hop.
That's what's been missing in Havana. Usually the music is loud and the lights are bright white. We fill the void for those people who like design and are sensitive to architecture, said Rafael Munoz, managing partner of El Cocinero.
It's an image that stands in stark contrast to common perceptions overseas of Communist Cuba as a tropical gulag, where many people earn about 20 US dollars a month and depend on subsidised food, housing and transport to get by.
Some patrons said they sometimes see the scions of Cuba's most powerful political clans living it up in raucous joints like these, as plainclothes state security agents keep watch outside.
It's all a far cry from the scene along the Malecon seafront boulevard, where working-class Cubans still gather by the thousands on weekends to sip from 90-cent cardboard boxes of rum and sit on the seawall to chat with friends.
Here on the Malecon it's fun, there are girls, said Adan Ferro, a 20-year-old street sweeper.
Where else am I going to go, the Habana Libre? I don't think so, he added, referring to an upscale hotel nearby with a penthouse nightclub.
