Hiking-Long Point Lighthouse to Lower Head,Twillingate NL
Hikers Keith and Heather Nicol recently walked this impressive trail which starts at the Long Point Lighthouse parking lot near Twillingate, Newfoundland. The trail offers fine views of the Gunn Islands and is a fine place to spot icebergs in season. This trail is about 5 km in length and you should allow at least 2 hours to complete it. The trail head is at 49 41.285 N and 54 48.097 W. For more hikes in Central Newfoundland see:

Long Point
Long Point is on the Port-au-Port peninsula of Newfoundland, a coast with some French connections. Originally a fishing settlement, Long Point still has a small boat harbour, but has little activity today.

Covesea Lighthouse
In February 2013 Covesea Lighthouse Community Company achieved their dream of community ownership for Covesea Lighthouse, its two keepers' cottages and surrounding land.
A grant of £301,500 from the Scottish Land Fund means they can develop a tourism hub to promote local heritage, the area's unique wildlife and environment and its links to the nearby airbase.
The lighthouse's location on the Moray Firth Coast has been voted one of the most breathtaking coasts in the world in a National Geographic Traveller magazine survey and community ownership presents an excellent opportunity for the project to boost the number of visitors to the area which in turn will help the local economy.

Coastline Magic Twillingate NL 2.4K
Spillars Cove to Codjacks Cove Trail winds along a particularly attractive section of coastline comprised of small offshore islands, coastal rock formations, and sea stacks. This trail is not unlike a roller coaster, with each highpoint (and there are many) presenting hikers with an entirely new view. You'll end at Codjacks Cove before heading inland back toward the community of Durrell. At just over seven-kilometres long, it will likely take you two to three hours to complete.
