UFO spotted hovering over Warminster, Wiltshire, England
The video, taken by a Frome resident, shows a streak of light circling over the National Trust owned land in Corsley.
Located at the edge of the Longleat Estate in Warminster, Cley Hill has long been thought of as a hot spot for UFOs.
The resident who took this video believes this streak of light could be one such UFO – although he is a little sceptical. For more than 40 years, this lofty hilltop has been a meeting place for UFO spotters, all drawn by talk of lights, flying objects and what have been described as ‘other unidentifiable oddities’.
Nigel Vile, a local rambler, regularly goes on walks around the area.
Speaking of the hill, he said: “Some experts have gone as far as to describe the nearby town of Warminster as Britain’s UFO capital on account of a phenomena first encountered in the mid-1960s that became known as the ‘Warminster Thing’.
“Strange noises were heard in the skies above the town, and an equally strange shimmering light was observed in the vicinity.”
It’s not just in Warminster that these UFOs are spotted, however. There are many towns around Frome that have similar experiences.Nigel said: “More recently, a report in the local press recorded the experiences of a number of people who witnessed a UFO in the skies in June 2001.
“A slow-moving bright light was spotted at Semington which was buzzed by an aircraft. Later, a number of people in Trowbridge saw an object comprised of three lights in a triangular formation heading west towards Warminster.
“As one critic noted, however, considering the proximity of the military training area on Salisbury Plain, was it not more likely that the UFOs people have been seeing during the past 50 years or so are more attributable to military activity rather than visits by alien life forms?Cley Hill can be found just off the A36 heading towards Longleat. It is more than 800ft in height and is surrounded by relatively flat agricultural land. At the top of the hill are the remains of a Bronze Age hillfort that encloses two round barrows.

LONGLEAT SAFARI & NEW KOALA CREEK! CELEBRATING OUR ANNIVERSARY | Part 2 | Longleat, UK | June 2019
It's time for us to celebrate two years together and in part two of our celebrations we head to Longleat Safari Park. We start the experience by enjoying their drive through safari where we see some animals strolling about then enjoy some monkeys jumping all over my car. After that we dash over the main park to check out the new addition - KOALA CREEK!
We did not leave ourselves enough time to properly enjoy this safari park so the day was over way too quickly, but I'm sure we'll be back again one day!

Warminster is a town and civil parish in western Wiltshire, England, by-passed by the A36 and the partly concurrent A350 between Westbury and Blandford Forum. The River Were runs through the town and can be seen running through the middle of the town park. The Minster Church of St Denys sits on the River Were. The name Warminster first occurs in the early 10th century.
Warminster is located in south-west Wiltshire, near to the Somerset border. The town is surrounded by six hills, providing shelter and security for early settlers. The area is made up of chalk, which provides good drainage to the nearby River Wylye, providing plenty of arable and pasturable land near to the village. The Wylye is a tributary of the River Avon. Warminster is also close to Selwood Forest.
As Warminster is in an area of fertile land, much of its early economy was through farming, especially corn. William Daniell commented in 1879 that Warminster lay 'in the midst of a fine corn-country', and Warminster's market provided the backbone of the economy through the 16th to 19th centuries. Warminster's clothing trade suffered greatly in the early 19th century, as there was no suitable river to power machinery during a period of industrialisation.
Warminster has a number of local venues which facilitate cultural events for the community. This includes a library, museum, five theatres and cinemas, eleven halls and a number of pubs. There are many festivals and events held annually within the area including Warminster festival, Vintage bus run and heritage open days. Warminster is twinned with Flers in France.
Close by to Warminster is stately home Longleat, which has included Longleat Safari Park since 1966; the first drive-through safari park outside Africa, home to over 500 animals, including giraffe, monkeys, rhino, lion, tigers and wolves. The town includes a theatre, the Warminster Athenaeum, an 1858 Grade II listed building. The Warminster Lake Pleasure Grounds were laid out in 1924 and facilities include tennis courts, play area and boating lake. They were officially opened by the Marquess of Bath on Saturday 26 July 1924.
The east of the town is situated along the A36 road and the Warminster service station is on the route. The Warminster railway station, opened in September 1851, is managed by Great Western Railway

Longleat House English Stately Home. Seat Of The Marquesses of Bath HD
Longleat is an English stately home and the seat of the Marquesses of Bath. It is adjacent to the village of Horningsham and near the towns of Warminster in Wiltshire and Frome in Somerset. It is noted for its Elizabethan country house, maze, landscaped parkland and safari park. The house is set in over 1,000 acres (400 ha) of parkland landscaped by Capability Brown, with 4,000 acres (1,600 ha) of let farmland and 4,000 acres (1,600 ha) of woodland, which includes a Center Parcs holiday village.[1] It was the first stately home to open to the public, and also claims the first safari park outside Africa.[2][3]
The house was built by Sir John Thynne, and designed mainly by Robert Smythson, after the original priory was destroyed by fire in 1567. It took 12 years to complete and is widely regarded as one of the finest examples of Elizabethan architecture in Britain. Longleat is occupied by Alexander Thynn, 7th Marquess of Bath, a direct descendant of the builder; however, the peer passed the management of the business to his son Viscount Weymouth early in 2010
