Opera Queensland in Longreach
The heart felt corporate video was filming over seven day in and around Longreach for Opera Queensland. The story is based around all the local school sending their stories to Megan Washington and Sarah Storer. They then created songs around the stories that the kids learned over the week leading up to a performance at the Qantas Museum in Longreach
Trucking down under ; Longreach, Queensland
Whilst waiting for a train I caught a few passing trucks :- a couple of triple trailer cattle trains, a bloke going fishing and a B triple cattle rig.
Emus take to the streets in Longreach, Australia
Emus are stopping traffic in the main street of Longreach in western Queensland as the drought forces them into town to look for food. Read more here:
141. Apex Riverside Park, Longreach Queensland
The Apex Riverside Park at Longreach is the perfect location to stay when visiting. An easy 3 kms out of town situated on the Thompson River the campground provides Toilets, Bins, BBQ's and Water.
In town there is a dump point facility.
The campground is pet friendly.
We had good Telstra and Optus coverage.
We parked near to the toilets as the campground is based on dirt and given where we were we didn't have too many people driving past and therefore didn't find it overly dusty. It does get busy in the afternoon.
The cost to stay is just $3 per day or $15 per week.
Our stay was 29th August to 1st September 2017

Australian Stockmans Hall of Fame, Longreach Queensland
The Australian Stockmans Hall of Fame is located in the Outback town of Longreach in Western Queensland. Two of Australia's Bush Legends R M Williams and Hugh Sawrey were the main instigators of the project.

Spirit of the Outback - Part 5 - Mamboo to Longreach
Mamboo is a passing loop miles from civilisation, it really is somewhere in the back of beyond, a place where Australia’s vast interior can be appreciated. The track stretches in a straight line for as far as the eye can see with just an occasional slight bend and regular bridges over dry river beds. The train paused at Alpha and Jericho before making an extended stop in Barcaldine to give passengers a chance to visit the “Tree of Knowledge” reputed birth place of the Australian Labour movement. We have time to admire the gardens and humorous sculptures created using scrap metal components before the train staff welcome us back on board for the final leg of this epic journey through Ilfracombe to Longreach, our final destination and home to the Qantas Aircraft Museum.

Approx 30kms north of Longreach is this perfect stay beside the waters edge.
Lots of space, very few others campers and just 20 mins to town.
There are no facilities other than bins.
We had Telstra and Optus coverage however no Vodafone.
The stay is pet friendly.
