Caribbean Dealshaker Expo - Tobago Beach & BBQ Cooldown
We don’t want you cooped up in a hotel for the entire three days! This is your chance to have a brain cooler event with us. We are considered to be ‘professional limers’ in the Caribbean! What is a ‘lime’ you may ask? It is a word used in Trinidad and Tobago and throughout the Caribbean as a synonym for “a gathering” or “to hang out! We welcome you to enjoy our sister isle TOBAGO!
GoPro Tobago - Being With Horses
This was not just riding a horse but surely an experience like no other. The tranquil vibes at the stable matched with the genuine love for people and the herd shown by Veronika and Lennon cannot be compared. The professionalism and and well explained safety measures was a breath of fresh air.
Located in Buccoo Tobago, this is a must do when on the island. I have never been on a horse before and this experience taught me so much about the obedience and emotions of these animals.
Its a Step Outside Your Comfort Zone however its one that allows you to share an experience with people who are passionate about bringing positive awareness.

Being With Horses | Tobago Horseback Riding | Equilibrium Media
My girlfriend wanted the classic majestic ride with horses through beautiful Caribbean seas, Being With Horses run by Lennon and Veronika La Fortune seemed to be my best bet for fulfilling her desires. We were blessed with more than we bargained for, moving beyond human interaction with horses, she experienced great joy and connection with the horses. Come away from the experience with a sense of self and an understanding of the deeper connection between humans and horses that we have shared for centuries.

Horse riding in Tobago
Went horse riding for the first time with the family. Quite and experience riding through a local village in Tobago, through mangroves, on the beach and in the sea.
This is Trinidad and Tobago
Trinidad and Tobago's strategic location at the gateway to the Americas, and its dynamic and capable workforce are just some of the reasons why it's an ideal investment location. A melting pot of races and cultures, businesses from around the world choose Trinidad and Tobago because more than 100 years of success in energy has fuelled its rapid development into the most industrialised, educated nation in the Caribbean, with a strong economy and a stable political system.
Trinidad pt 1
Dealing with the Deficit and Restoring Growth
An undisputed fact is that in whatever area of governmental
decision- making, the one thing that stands out and which will
always be the national conversation is that there is never one
option available to address any national problem. It is always
about choice of option and selection of priority. This being so
one should not be overwhelmed by contrary views but as a
people we must have the maturity to sensibly confront our
circumstances, whatever they might be and take the best option
available under the current circumstances. Options that give us
the best chance to overcome whatever difficulties which challenge us, especially when our challenges are time sensitive. The Basic Facts - There is no question that most of the country is now well aware of the very bad economic and financial situation the country fell into and a new government inherited in late 2015. After enjoying energy sector revenues taxes and royalties
2010 - $15.7 B
2014 - $19.4 B
2016 - $1.6 B
2017 - $2.1 B
In other words, the Government was faced with a fall of more
than 89% in its main revenue source between 2014 and
2017. (The picture below tells the story [P1] .) From 2015, with the massive drop in revenues, the Government was faced with bills for running the affairs of the country, which it simply could not discharge. In this situation one of the main concerns of the Government was the level of public payroll employment. The Government is clearly one of the largest employers of labour in the country and since Government revenues have declined so precipitously, as they did, it is to be expected that public sector employment would be in serious jeopardy. The government has been at pains to keep the level of employment stable, even as we wind down the expenditure highs. Compounding this bad revenue situation is a second dimension of the economic difficulties facing the country. The chronic minimal economic growth situation in the country constitutes a major difficulty. The fact is that for the past ten years the economic growth of the country has been on a slight downward trend. So even if we enjoyed a few growth spurts in that period we were not able to maintain the growth, far less, increase it. (We illustrate the growth trend in the picture below.) From a rate of growth of 4 ½ percent in 2007 we reached just under 3% in 2013 and we have been declining steadily since then, with the 2016 figure almost negative 3%. The growth situation and the revenue position are no doubt
related since government revenue is a major portion of the
country’s national income. So if the national income is on a
negative long term downward trend the government revenue will
follow the same trend. This means that even as it tries to
stabilize the revenue situation the government is duty bound to
get the growth process restarted, since it is growth that will bring
new revenues for the government.

The wind was as strong as the Mayaro beach. While the footage was stable, the drone drifted and nearly crash landed due to the strength of the wind. Needless to say, it survived, hope you guys enjoy!

Trinidad And Tobago Is Ignoring Its Venezuelan Refugee Problem (HBO)
Cedros, on the remote southwestern tip of the island of Trinidad, is a sleepy fishing village unaccustomed to heavy traffic. Its port is little more than a narrow jetty sticking out into the water and a small customs house on shore.
But in recent months, ferries have been dropping off passengers by the dozen, most of them hauling large rolling suitcases behind them. That’s because Cedros happens to be seven miles away from the Venezuelan coast, where political turmoil and a collapsing economy is driving people out by the thousands.
“Before this situation developed, the number of [Venezuelans] entering through the port was under 100 weekly,” said Shankar Teelucksingh, the councillor for Cedros. “Today we have over 1,500. And that’s just what we can keep track of — that excludes the ones that come into the country illegally.”
Roughly 3.4 million people have left Venezuela in recent years, according to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. The large majority have gone overland to Colombia, Peru, and other South American countries. But proportionally, Trinidad and Tobago has received the most: an estimated 60,000 Venezuelans now live in the island nation, which amounts to more than four percent of its population.
And yet, of all the countries bearing the brunt of the Venezuelan refugee crisis, Trinidad and Tobago has done the least to address it. Venezuelans there can apply for refugee status from the UNHCR, which entitles them to stay in the country. But the government has not otherwise made significant efforts to integrate them or provide them with legal status.
Adults are not legally allowed to work, and children are not given the right to a public education. As a result, Venezuelans in Trinidad live mostly underground. The lucky ones find local residents who are willing to help them.
After months of living in overcrowded conditions with other families, Josué Campos and his family met a local school principal named Kelly-Ann Langdon-Pascal, who let them enroll their daughter for free in her small private school. Langdon-Pascal also rented them her basement apartment for cheap.
Campos and his wife now work odd jobs cleaning houses and on construction sites. “It’s tough, because you have to live in fear,” Campos said. “You’re working and you’re wondering if immigration is coming, if the police are coming. It’s not stable.”
Still, odd jobs in Trinidad are a better deal than a stable job in Venezuela: A day’s work in Trinidad is enough to buy food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, Campos said. “With the minimum wage you get in Venezuela, you can’t even buy breakfast.”
