The castle is located in Nakuru county in a place known as Ngata.
The story behind this castle is heart-wrenching tale of unrequited Love.
He met an Austrian woman and fell deeply in love with her .He tried to convince her to marry him and start a family but it all was in vein cause the woman declined .He invited the lady to his house but the lady dint stay even for an hour instead she called the house a “Chicken Coop”.
LOrd egerton uped his game just to prove his worth to the lady by building the 52 room mansion.She invited her to the newly built castle but she turned him down again.
The lady later on got married to a British man in Australia leaving lord Egerton devastated.
Lord Egerton castle is a spot worth visiting .

It is every man's wish that the woman of his dreams will say yes to his advances and not reject him. But that was not the case for Lord Maurice Egerton, who was rejected by his fiancee even after making every effort to satisfy her desire.
Thus the development and completion of the Lord Egerton castle in 1954, a unique monument that became the castle of love and hate in the heart of Nakuru county, which will this Wednesday play host to this years' Madaraka day celebrations. Joy Kiruki visited the castle and tells us the intriguing history of this masterpiece attraction.

This is the story of Lord Maurice Egerton Tatton, the fourth and last Barron Egerton of Tatton. In this video, I explain why he built this beautiful castle for a lady who stole his heart and ran away with it which left him so heartbroken that he hated women and banned them from setting foot on his land.
How unfortunate, isn't it?But also, how fortunate it was for out of that rejection, learning institutions came to be.
This Castle is located 12km from Nakuru town in a place known as Ngata.

In colonial Kenya a story is told about Lord Egerton who built a magnificent 52-room castle for the love of his life. The Lady’s identity is not known but its believed she was of Austrian origin. The construction took 16 years to complete but he came through a cold reality that the purpose for which the castle was built had fizzled out. The love of his life had declined to marry him not only once but twice. He died a lonely, unloved man.
