WONDEROUS Willett Hot Springs of Los Padres National Forest
We hiked in to the Sespe Wilderness to spend three nights out at the wonderful Willett Hot Springs of Los Padres National Forest. Despite the holiday weekend, we had the hot springs all to ourselves for most of our time there. I highly recommend this spot. The relaxing atmosphere is well worth the 18 mile round trip hike.

STORYLINE:
Firefighters in the US state of California guarded a mobile home park on Wednesday as erratic winds drove a 27-thousand-acre (11-thousand hectare) wildfire in Los Padres National Forest.
The fire was burning across a major road in southern California, Interstate 5.
Frances Reynolds, of the US Forest Service said there were areas along the interstate with pockets of unburned fuel that could pose a problem.
Firefighters remain concerned that unpredictable winds could cause flames to jump over the main road and head toward the mobile home park about one and a half miles (two kilometres) away.
Officials reported no immediate danger to residents, and no evacuations were ordered. The huge blaze was 25 percent contained.
Crews using torches lit backfires along the edges of the major traffic artery to burn potential fuel.
Only half of the eight interstate lanes were open. California Highway Patrol officers were escorting traffic as needed.
The fire began on September 4 and has burned more than 42 square miles of forest land north of Los Angeles on the border of Ventura County.
The wind-driven flames surged across nearly 11 square miles on Tuesday.
Nearly 1,500 firefighters are working to contain the fire.
Firefighting costs have ballooned past 10 (m) million dollars, to contain the blaze sparked when someone began to burn debris.
Even with the use of water-dropping helicopters, crews have made little progress because there are few roads or safe access spots in the ridge-corrugated wilderness.

Tejon Trail Los Padres National Forest, 11/8/15
Had just finished helping a rider back onto the trail (from another group) who slid off. He took off on ahead of us to get back with his group. Worked our way through some of the guys who were hung up in the rocks, and ended up riding behind this kid who seemed to be the fastest of the group. Not a hard trail but not a trail for a little KX65 for whatever it was.

In this USA travel vlog, we take a lesser-known drive to Big Sur through Los Padres National Forest where we were amazed by the colourful autumn leaves and gorgeous views - including hills that looked VERY similar to the Chocolate Hills in Bohol, Philippines!
After we eventually made it to the famous Big Sur coastal drive, we enjoyed the scenery and made our way up to the seaside city of Carmel-by-the-Sea. This charming place was a lot of fun to explore and walk around, and even had it's very own white sand beach which has to be one of the most beautiful beaches we've seen in California so far on this trip!
