Glass Beach Ussuri Bay In Russia... The Ocean Turns From Empty Vodka And Beer Bot
Ussuri Bay is a major bay within Peter the Great Gulf of the Sea of Japan. Ussuri Bay in Russia was once a Soviet-era dumping ground for old glass bottles and porcelain, but thanks to the awesome power of mother nature, the bay, near Vladivostok, now boasts one of the most beautiful beaches you’ll ever see. Because over the period of many years, the waves of the North Pacific have washed the broken beer, wine and vodka bottles into millions of smooth and colorful “pebbles” that have turned the area from a no-go zone to a tourist attraction that visitors pay to see.
While Ussuri Bay was once considered dangerous, authorities have now deemed it a specially protected area called Glass Beach that is popular with both tourists and locals.

The plan involves the construction of a bridge or tunnel between Russia and Sakhalin, and from there, a bridge to the Japanese island of Hokkaido, reports the Siberian Times.
The bridge between Japan and Russia would reportedly be 28 miles in length across the Pacific Ocean.

Natural Wonders - Glass Beach on Ussuri Bay
Natural Wonders - Glass Beach on Ussuri Bay
Just a 30-minute-drive away from the city of Vladivostok, Russia, lies a stunning bay surrounded by impressive cliffs. Not very long ago, the beach here was used as dumping ground of unwanted glass by a local porcelain factory, or so the story goes. According to another version, the waste glass products were washed away by the river and then swept into the sea. Now years later, the seaside on Ussuri Bay as taken on an unusual appearance. Millions of broken bits of glass, rounded smooth by the relentless pounding of the ocean waves cover every bit of the beach. On a sunny day, they sparkle like lighted candles. The Glass Beach of Ussuri Bay is not the only example of nature correcting man’s mistake. There is another glass beach with a similar history in MacKerricher State Park near Fort Bragg, California.

Tigers losing ground in Siberia
===============================
The World Wildlife Fund on Thursday (22/1) launched a campaign
to protect the Siberian forests that are the natural habitat of
the Siberian tiger.
The WWF hopes to reverse the steady decline of Siberian tiger
populations in their native regions in Russia. After decades of
decline, Siberian tigers are now only found in two regions --
Primorski Krai and Khabarovski Krai.
Small populations of the tigers also survive in neighbouring
China and North Korea, but massive deforestation in those
countries has steadily reduced their numbers as well.
According to the WWF, tigers are a nomadic species which can
only survive on large, unsettled territories that allow them to
roam freely and hunt for their food.
WWF said that most of the estimated 250-300 remaining Siberian
tigers roam the Primorski forests and they make up between 80
and 90 percent of the remaining world population of the species.

Glass bight Vladivostok disappear within one generation
Glass bight Vladivostok disappear within one generation
Cove Glass in the Ussuri Bay risks losing many tourists: the researchers found that the famous beach located near Vladivostok and studded with multicolored pieces of polished glass, will disappear in less than a generation .. Of course, if it does not contaminate again.
Recall that all this beauty in the Soviet era was a huge garbage dump, but over time the waves grind pieces of bottles and other glass containers until smooth stones. English daily publication Daily Mail gave the bay the name of delightful beach kaleidoscope of shards of bottles of vodka.
Now Bay - a popular tourist attraction, locals and tourists come here to admire the shimmering coast of unprecedented beauty.
Experts warn that a generation, that is about 20 years, an impressive tourist attraction will be gone forever
Professor Peter Brovko some time engaged in the study of the bay: Every summer, the beach attracts many tourists, but if in the coming years there will be no more garbage, the splendor will disappear within two decades Already glass is much less than it was 20 years ago..
The reason for the disappearance would be a massive removal of stones as souvenirs, as well as the natural leaching. After that, the beach becomes a regular pebbly and sandy bay, is no different from their own kind. Fortunately, the next beach pollution is not expected.
