Wild Australia - The Lost City
It might be Australia's youngest national park, but the lost cities of Limmen were formed on the ocean floor 1.4 billion years ago.

Jumping Crocs & Litchfield National Park- Darwin
Footage from our trip to see the jumping crocodiles on the Adelaide River and Litchfield National Park in Darwin (Northern Territory- Australia). The tour was an action packed day that I definitely recommend. However, if you want to see lots of Litchfield I suggest a 2 or 3 day tour :) Many thanks to our guide Pat on the Adelaide river. His knowledge and respect of these amazing creatures was mind blowing.

The Lost City @ Litchfield National Park NT
Apologies for the blairwitch type footage, however it was an attempt to show the experience of walking and exploring the ancient ruins that these sandstone formations resemble. An experiment, shall we say!

After spending a couple of days travelling in and out of Darwin having to buy a new fridge for the car, we began to drive the only way you can from Darwin, south! The entrance to Litchfield National Park via a partially unsealed road off the Cox Peninsula Road were four wheel drive is recommended. Litchfield National Park opened in 1986 is around 100km south of Darwin and attracts over a quarter of a million visitors each year. Aboriginal people have lived throughout the area for thousands of years. It is important to the Kungarakan and Marranunggu peoples. There are several sacred and special sites within the park.
We camped close to the base of the Cascades, when we visited the Lower Pool was closed and path was being rebuilt after the wet season. However the Upper Pool was still open, it was a tough 20-30 minute hike to the swimming holes where we were able to have a refreshing dip at 8AM it was already humid and in the high 20s. Not bothering to drying off we hoped we might be kept slightly cooler on the walk back down the rocky trail. Next we drove to maybe the most popular and definitely the most accessible attraction in the park Wangi Falls, not open for swimming due to heavy rain. The sun was now high and after rescuing someone (letting them use our compressor for there flat tyre) we took a short drive to Tolmer Falls. Possible to get closer than we did but not sensible in the midday heat we decided to jump into Buley Rockhole to cool off. The Rockhole was busy, it was the beginning of the easter holidays and it seemed as if everyone in the Northern Territory as well as 3 coach tours had the same idea as us! The last swimming location was at the beautiful Florence Falls, again busy but slightly further from the car park and down 100 steps at least put a few people off. Finally we visited the Magnetic termite mounds built by thousands of termites with a north-south orientation to control the temperature inside the mounds.
We were keen to do the 4x4 Southern Access Track down to the Daly River Road, unfortunately the track and all the sites along it were closed.
Thanks for watching and please subscribe for more videos coming soon,

The Lost City - Near Lithgow NSW
Just out of Lithgow, a couple of hours' drive west of Sydney, NSW's 'Lost City' is an easy 4WD destination and well worth a visit. The spectacular weathered, beehive-shaped, Hawkesbury sandstone formations are quite a sight.
There are probably more 'Lost Cities' around Australia than Native Dog Creeks, and that's really a big claim! In the Northern Territory, Litchfield National Park has a Lost City. There's another in the Gulf. All have one thing in common - spectacular geological formations.

WA.NT Trip Part 4 | Litchfield National Park | NT
Litchfield National Park is a stunning bit of real estate, and only two hours from Darwin! We head into the park on the Reynolds River 4x4 Track, going through a couple of sandy bottom river crossings, most other roads in the park are sealed.
While in Litchfield we visit some of the most stunning waterfalls including Florence falls, Wangi falls and Tjaynera/Sandy Creek Falls. We also get lost in the Lost City and cool off in Buley Rockhole.
Lost City, Northern Territory Australia
We have this place while driving back home from Litchfield Park. I think it was still part of the park.
Litchfield National Park Lost City Tjaynera Blythe Loop
Bush walk in Litchfield National Park. From Lost City to Tjaynera Falls then to Blythe Homestead & return to Lost City - approximately 16.5 km. 80% is off trail - there are no trail markers. There is no phone reception.
The terrain is generally easy with rocky sections. No technical accents or descents. The Pools at the foot of Tjaynera Falls & Horse Paddock Falls are crocodile accessible - so be vigilant. Best between March & September - unfortunately the track into Lost City does not open until about May so if you want to see the waterfalls at their best you may need to quietly mountain bike your way in & out. I recommend an overnight stop at Sandy Creek Camp or Horse Paddock for those not accustomed to the Northern Territory conditions - and leave at Sunrise or very soon after.
There is a shortcut if required by following Horse Paddock Creek upstream back to near Lost City. There is good permanent water for much of the way & plenty of shade.
This walk is definitely for experienced off trail walkers with full equipment.

Buley and Florence Falls • Litchfield National Park
A spectacular day exploring Litchfield National Park in the Northern Territory. We visited Florence Falls and Buley Rockpools during the wet season and they were magnificent.
