WHITE WATER RAFTING | Arkansas River, Colorado
This past September my friends and I tried white water rafting while we were in Colorado for Tough Mudder. We went through Lost Paddle Rafting in Canon City, CO and had a blast. It was right after the season so we were the only rafts on the river that day. It was nice. The water was very cool! The river passes right through Royal Gorge and you can see the bridge, 1250 ft above. Definitely would do this again! Here are some highlights. Shoutouts to Tom Pham for filming with his Go Pro!

Class V White Water Rafting on the Upper Gauley River, WV - October 11, 2003
Scenes from my 2003 raft trip down the Upper Gauley River, West Virginia. The Upper Gauley's spillway opens wide for a couple weeks during October creating some of the best Class V white water to be found in the country.
A trip down the Gauley is exhilarating and literally will leave you breathless on occasion.
This video covers the following rapids:
02:23 Insignificant (Class V - ironically so named because the first expedition reported nothing significant before Pillow.)
03:15 Capsize on Pillow Rock (Class V - Extremely powerful and intimidating rapid.)
05:08 Lost Paddle (Class V - a long, treacherous rapid consisting of four sub-rapids: First Drop, Second Drop, Third Drop, and Tumblehome.)
06:38 Iron Ring (Class V - so named for a large iron ring which had been anchored in a rock near the rapid by loggers many years before. The ring was cut and removed by vandals in the 1980s.)
07:55 Sweet's Falls (Class V -14' waterfall named for John Sweet, a canoeist and pioneer of Gauley rafting in 1972.)
