The Louvre Sculpture Museum - MieXplorer
Louvre Sculpture Museum
Geoff here with another MieXplorer video.
Today we are looking at the Louvre Sculpture Museum.
Now don’t mistaken this museum for the one in France.
This one is located in Mie’s Tsu city and displays exact replicas of statues that are found in France’s Louvre. These are official reproductions made by taking molds of the originals, with permission of course. And the amount of detail put into each one is amazing.
Get up close and you can see every mark, chip, and blemish, just as it is on the original.
Being such good replicas, you really are seeing the bust of Nefertiti, the death mask of Napoleon, and sculptures made by Michelangelo.
While the main draw to the museum may be the Louvre sculpture replicas, there are some other amazing reproductions to be admired.
Like this buddha sculpture.
It took a group of people over 5 years to complete this which is an impressive feat when you realize that it has 1000 arms.
And behind the Louvre Museum there is a another museum that focuses on the recreations of Buddhist sculptures.
The main feature here is the 33 meter tall Buddha statue but there is so much more.
Like an amazing collection of stones that have images of letters, numbers, and pictures in them but were entirely created by nature.
Also there are two halls completely devoted to over 150 buddhist statues, all recreations of statues found through out Japan.
With so many sculptures, you can easily spend several hours admiring the intricate detail put into each recreation.
And Whether you prefer one type of sculpture over the other, the Louvre Sculpture museum and its associated Buddhist Museum has something for every art lover.

Garage Museum of Contemporary Art presents Open Systems. Self-Organized Art Initiatives in Russia: 2000–2015.
Since 2000, the Russian art scene has witnessed the rise of artists’ DIY initiatives, including independent non-profit spaces, exhibitions in deserted factories and underground crosswalks, street festivals, internet projects, and apartment shows. Together these reflect the autonomy of emerging generations of artists from both state-run and private institutions. Open Systems is a live, research-based exhibition that presents self-organized initiatives, exploring the phenomenon through the perspectives of artists who have pioneered projects over the past 15 years.

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone.
