Monterey, CA. (Pacific Grove) Jan 5th 2008 Winter Storm
30+ foot waves the day after a massive midlatitude cyclone slammed into the CA coast. This video was taken at approximately 1100L during high tide (6ft) 0.5 miles north of Asilomar State Beach. A coastal flooding warning was in effect, for obvious reasons. You can see from the bushes in the foreground how the waves during the height of the storm the night before had drowned the street we were standing on and pushed up and onto the lawns of the million dollar houses behind us.
