Sepulveda Basin lyrics:
It came like a shotgun wedding
Disguised by vows of lust you made
Thinking the truth might follow
I close my eyes and pray for rain
Oh well
Don’t need someone to make me great
Oh well
Don’t need
In and out again
It was the best I ever had
In and out again
My life’s growing so sad
I was a fiend for a little bit of gold
A foolish tale untold
Never did care then to open up and see
The ones who really loved me
Oh well
Don’t need someone to make me great
Oh well
Don’t need
In and out again
It was the best I ever had
In and out again
My life’s growing so sad
Oh well
Don’t need, my life’s growing so sad
Oh well
Don’t need someone to make me...

Toro lyrics:
Sunkissed, skin it makes me feed into your mind tricks
Your eyes are ocean blue but I’m sea sick
Of all your pretty lies on your lipstick
Cryptic so cryptic
All my life want to take it over
All my life want to take it over
Stranger do me the most, look into my eyes be the holy to my Ghost, bless me your strange love
Baby where’s the dirty love that you mentioned, you make me start to question my own patience, I’m waiting ona knife to come an save me, save me, please save me
All my life want to take it over
Stranger do me the most, look into my eyes be the holy to my Ghost, give me that strange love
Hold me give me a kiss, wake me from this dream of a never ending pit
Bless me your strange love
All my life want to take it over
All my life want to take it over
All my life want to take it over
All my life want to take it over
All my life want to take it over

My Beloved World: A Talk with Justice Sonia Sotomayor
U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor meets with University of Washington students to talk about My Beloved World, her memoir chronicling her journey from a housing project in the Bronx, New York, to her service as a federal judge in New York, and ultimately as a U.S. Supreme Court Justice. Drawing from student-submitted questions, UW Provost Ana Mari Cauce interviews the Justice about the formative experiences that shaped her into who she is today. Watch what Sotomayor has to say on a range of issues, including advice she would give to her 20-year-old self, handling racially-charged situations, what she is optimistic about, and much more.

Beyond Accommodation: Changing the Disability Frame | Teaching in Troubled Times | UC Berkeley
Discussions of disability on college campuses often focus on how we can support and accommodate individual needs and meet compliance requirements under the Americans with Disabilities Act. With this panel of and dialogue session, we hope to expand that important conversation. On November 18, 2019, Berkeley faculty, graduate student instructors, staff, and students were invited to think in creative and visionary ways about culture, structure, teaching and learning, and broader institutional transformation.
Key questions discussed include:
* How can we as a campus start to look at disability from a framework of equity, belonging and social justice, rather than solely as a matter of individual accommodation?
* What are the range of disability-related experiences in our classrooms, departments, organizations and campus community? What strengths and assets do they offer?
* What challenges are created by the structures, spaces, assumptions and narratives about ability and disability within which we work? How do they normalize certain types of experience? How do they impact the distribution of power and resources? How do they affect individual success and well-being? How can we address these challenges?
* What are some creative ways to think about curriculum, pedagogy, advising, mentoring and classroom culture that move us beyond “accommodation to full inclusion and belonging?
* What does new research tell us about how to think about all of these issues?
PANELISTS:
Ella Callow, ADA/Section 504 Compliance Officer
Mel Chen, Gender and Women’s Studies
Georgina Kleege, English
Karen Nakamura, Anthropology
Marsha Saxton, Disability Studies
Moderator: Sue Schweik, English
