Lugu Lake is located in a mountainous region which is about 200km from Lijiang City (丽江市). It is an alpine lake famed for its spectacular scenery and is home to the Mosuo minority ethnic group.

Adminitstratively, Lugu Lake sits on the border between Yunnan (云南) and Sichuan (四川) Province. With 2/3 of it in Yunnan and 1/3 in Sichuan.

Lugu Lake sits at an elevation of 2685m, making it the highest lake in Yunnan Province. Ringed by mountains on all sides, the panoramic lake has 4 peninsulas, 5 islands, 14 bays and an impressive 17 beaches.

The lake has long been home to the local Mosuo people, whom are widely recognised to be the last matriarchal society in the world. Thus, Lugu Lake is also commonly refered to as “The Kingdom of Women”, “Home of the Matriarchal Tribe” and “Women’s World”.

YUNNAN Lijiang Vlog Day 4 ｜ Lugu Lake 泸沽湖 ｜4K

Lugu Lake 泸沽湖 is located in the northwest of the Yunnan plateau, with the middle of the lake forming the border between the Ninglang County of Yunnan Province and the Yanyuan County of Sichuan Province.

It is an alpine lake at an elevation of 2,685 metres (8,809 ft) and is the highest lake in the Yunnan Province. The lake is surrounded by mountains and has five islands, four peninsulas, fourteen bays and seventeen beaches.

I enjoyed a wonderful 2 days cycling around Lugu lake last fall. It was fantastic! The water is perfectly clear and there were so many pink little flowers everywhere!

Lugu Lake Da Ba Hotel Lijiang

The Lugu Lake Da Ba Hotel Lijiang has beautiful views of the mountains from many locations. The Ancient City is less than twenty minutes away from the hotel. Shopping centers and restaurants are within a fifteen minute drive from the hotel. Parks, tourist landmarks and cultural centers are close by. The airport is about fifty minutes away from the Lugu Lake Da Ba Hotel Lijiang. The rail station is about thirty minutes away.

This hotel has 300 standard rooms, deluxe rooms, business rooms and business suites available. Each room in the Lugu Lake Da Ba Hotel Lijiang has an IDD telephone, satellite TV, a high speed Internet connection, a hair dryer, a safe, minibar, private bathroom, air conditioning and a coffee maker.

The hotel is made up of several buildings and has a three star rating. Two onsite restaurants serve Western and Chinese entrees. A travel desk can arrange transportation or purchase entertainment tickets by request. The Lugu Lake Da Ba Hotel Lijiang has a business center that can copy, fax, scan and email documents. There is also a library, sauna and a bar.

往瀘沽湖路途沿路風光 On the way to Lugu lake, Yunnan (China)

瀘沽湖位於四川省鹽源縣與雲南省寧蒗縣交界處,為川滇共轄.湖東為鹽源縣瀘沽湖鎮(原左所區),湖西為寧蒗縣永寧鄉.該湖俗稱左所海,古名勒得海,魯枯湖.湖面海拔2685米,湖泊最長9.5公里,寬7.5公里,最大水深90米,平均水深40米,面積49.5平方公里,蓄水9.5億立方米.

雲南瀘沽湖俯瞰里格村里格半島 Lugu lake, Yunnan (China)

里格半島位於瀘沽湖的北側,東西南三面環水,北面是與陸地接壤的一條小路,只有2米寬,走完小路就是一個白色的轉山包,當地居民會從轉山包的左側進島,然後會從轉山包的右側出島,這樣走就相當於繞著轉山包轉了一圈.島上除了有當地居民幾百年的古老住所,另外還分佈著幾家景色很棒的臨湖客棧,一個村民自用的小碼頭就在這2米多寬的接壤道路旁邊.
