Taiwan's Best Kept Secret!
So excited about this vlog! Well, except for that part where my lip is swollen and I look like a plastic surgery gone wrong.
But besides that! This vlog includes an entire town that goes to bed before 8 pm, the cutest dog in the world, paper lantern heaven, a social call of the gods, and a lot more!

**To the people interested in what happened to my lip, I actually don't have much more information. But I figured out that it was an allergic reaction to an insect bite. During my stay in Lukang, I got three other bites (on finger, hand, and arm) which all swelled up in the same way. They didn't itch or hurt at all, but had a tiny red dot in the center. All went away within 36 hours. The end.**

STORYLINE
Ceremonies have been held in China and Taiwan to mark the birthday of the Chinese philosopher Confucius.
In Beijing on Wednesday, the Chinese government organised a special commemoration event at the 700-year-old Confucius Temple.
Several hundred scholars and officials were invited to a private ceremony involving traditional costumes, ritual offerings and readings of Confucian texts.
A special group of direct descendants of Confucius also attended, including Kong Weizhong, who called the ceremony a landmark.
As descendants of Confucius, we are very proud to be part of this, he said.
As well as a celebration of the philosopher''''s 2,562nd birthday, the ceremony marked the end of a cultural festival aimed at celebrating Confucian culture and ideas.
In recent years, the government has promoted Confucianism as part of China''''s mainstream culture and some schools have included Confucian texts in their curriculum.
Meanwhile, in Taiwan, hundreds of Taiwanese gathered at daybreak on Wednesday to perform an ancient ceremony at Taipei''''s Confucius temple.
The ceremony began with traditional drum rolls, followed by a procession of attendants, musicians and dancers in traditional dress.
The hour-long ritual was attended by Taipei Mayor, Hau Lung-Bin, as well as educators, students and politicians.
The ceremony to honour Confucius can be traced back since his death in 479 BC.
Originally, only relatives of Confucius performed the ceremony, but in 200 AD an emperor from Han dynasty began to attend it and emperors have followed suit ever since.
Confucius - or Kong Zi in Mandarin - created much of the Chinese understanding of a social and political education.
Some historians compare Confucius''''s influence in Chinese history with that of Socrates in the West.
