Kobe beef (神戸ビーフ Kōbe bīfu) is meat from the Tajima strain of Japanese Black cattle, raised in Japan's Hyogo Prefecture according to rules set out by the Kobe Beef Marketing and Distribution Promotion Association.[1] The meat is a delicacy, valued for its flavor, tenderness, and fatty, well-marbled texture. Kobe beef can be prepared as steak, sukiyaki, shabu-shabu, sashimi, and teppanyaki. Kobe beef is generally considered one of the three top brands (known as Sandai Wagyuu, the three big beefs), along with Matsusaka beef and Ōmi beef or Yonezawa beef.

MOST BEAUTIFUL NIGHT VIEWS IN JAPAN - Kobe Beef Cruise
Kobe (神戸) is often thought to be the beef capital of Japan, if not the world. A while back, we had the pleasure of going on the Luminous Kobe Cruise, which is a all you can eat (buffet) Kobe beef cruise. They also have extremely delicious reasonably priced course meals on the cruise.
Kobe doesn't just have some of the best wagyu beef (和牛）in Japan, it also is home to some of the most beautiful night views in Japan. The Port of Kobe is absolutely stunning from the top of the cruise ship.
I've been to quite a few steakhouse in Japan, but never one on the ocean. The dinner course was amazing, but I got to recommend the beef buffet. Make sure you call ahead of time to make reservations for the Kobe beef buffet.

Kobe Harborland (神戸ハーバーランド) is a shopping and entertainment district between JR Kobe Station and the waterfront of Kobe's port area. “Geibikei Gorge” is a valley that was first designated as a national scenic spot in Iwate Prefecture in 1923. A cliff with a height of 100 meters rises over 2 kilometers in length and shows a fantastic appearance. Strange rocks and waterfalls are scattered here and there, and limestone cave can be seen. Although it may be mistaken for the nearby Geibikei Gorge, it is a tourist spot that is visited by many people throughout the season as one of the “the 100 best sceneries in Japan”.

MOL's cruise ship FUJI MARU passed Akashi-Kaikyo Bridge, Osaka Bay.
She was built in 1989. However, she is always beautiful.
But she will retire on 30 June, 2013.
2013年5月6日大阪湾 明石海峡を西へ航行する商船三井の客船 ふじ丸 です。
1989年に就航した本船ですが本年6月末で引退予定です。
この映像は引退を前に神戸市が主催した さよなら「ふじ丸」ラストデイクルーズ での航海を
撮影したものです。
この日は大阪港では自動車船 ダイハツ丸 がサノヤスドックの整備明けドックアウトもあったので
大阪港に行くか ふじ丸 狙いで明石海峡に行くか悩みに悩みましたが結局これが最後の機会かもしれない
という事で ふじ丸 を撮影を選びました。
季節柄少々陽炎のメラメラが気になりますがご了承ください。
