Chinese zoo's 'African lion' exposed in Henan Luohe when theTibetan mastiff dog substitute barks
A zoo in China has substituted lions and wolves for dogs and rats for snakes in what is being seen as a cost-cutting exercise.
With the sun shining and kids at home for the school holidays, many families in the eastern Chinese city of Luohe decided to pay a visit to the city's zoo this week.
But those hoping to be thrilled by the zoo's fearsome beasts were left disappointed by a rather tamer set of substitutes.
One family surnamed Liu took their six-year-old son to the zoo in People's Park, reported the local Dahe Daily newspaper.
On the way, Mrs Liu was teaching her son all the sounds that the different animals make. But when they arrived, her son said the lion was barking like a dog.
Indeed, inside the enclosure marked African Lion was a Tibetan mastiff dog. There was another dog in the wolf cage, while some foxes were standing in for the leopards.
Many Chinese zoos have struggled to make money in recent years, after a government ruling that animal shows should cease and that they should operate on a non-profit basis.
Meanwhile, more wild animals disappeared further to the south this week.
Two crocodiles are currently at large in Jiangsu province after the botched demolition of a breeding farm.
Six out of 16 Nile crocodiles escaped when workers descended, in the middle of the night, to forcibly demolish their farm on the outskirts of Xuzhou city, claiming that the outbuildings had been erected without planning permission.
Four of the beasts, each roughly eight feet long, were recaptured by the manager of the farm from drainage ditches in the neighbourhood. The other two remain on the loose.
They will attack people if they feel threatened, said the manager of the farm, named only as Mr Fan. This place is surrounded by cornfields and villages, where people work on the farms and kids play around. The consequences of an attack can be terrible.
Jiangsu Television showed nine crocodiles amid the wreckage of the farm on Tuesday.
The auxiliary buildings in the crocodile farm were illegal and were removed, in accordance with the law. The crocodile pool was deep, and we didn't believe the crocodiles would run out, an unnamed official from the subdistrict told the television station.
The demolition was done at night because we were too busy during the day, he added.
Chinese zoo tries to pass off dog as 'African Lion'
A zoo in Henan Province, China has come under fire for using fake animals after trying to pass off dogs as lions.
The local newspaper reported that the zoo, located in People's Park, Luohe, had been caught trying to pass off a Tibetan mastiff as an African lion.
One customer recounted how he tried to play along, telling his young son it was a special kind of lion. But the illusion was shattered when the lion started barking.
In other parts of the zoo, foxes were on display as leopards, wolves were dogs and in the most blatant act of dishonesty a couple of rats were on display inside the snake exhibit.
One disgruntled visitor told reporters that 'to use a dog to impersonate a lion is definitely an insult to tourists.'
Another said 'The zoo is absolutely cheating us. They are trying to disguise the dogs as lions.'
An administrator at the zoo told visitors that the dog was a friend of the lion, which had been transferred to another zoo to breed.
The head of the People's Park where the zoo is located said that private contractors were responsible for running the zoo.

The lion that barked: China zoo under fire for disguising dog as lion-[Hot Clip Online]
A Chinese zoo's supposed African lion was exposed as a fraud when the dog used as a substitute started barking.
The zoo in the People's Park of Luohe, in the central province of Henan, replaced exotic exhibits with common species, according to the state-run Beijing Youth Daily.
It quoted a customer surnamed Liu who wanted to show her son the different sounds animals made — but he pointed out that the animal in the cage labelled African lion was barking.
The beast was in fact a Tibetan mastiff — a large and long-haired breed of dog.
The zoo is absolutely cheating us, the paper quoted Liu, who was charged 15 yuan ($2.45) for the ticket, as saying. They are trying to disguise the dogs as lions.

Zoo Tries Passing off Dog as a Lion!
And we thought American politicians lied to us...
Get this, in China the People's Park of Luohe in the Henan province had on display an Amazing African Lion.
So, what's so newsworthy about this? Because it actually isn't a lion. It's a dog.
And they pulled off the old switcheroo due to the enormous size of the dog breed, a Tibetan mastiff.
But what finally gave away the fraud was when the 'lion' started barking.
So why'd they do it? Apparently times are tight so the Chinese zoo replaced some exotic animals with less expensive substitutes.
The passed off a white fox as a leopard, and a common dog as a wolf.
After being caught, the zoo said the lions were on loan to another zoo but that they'd be back.
Oh, if we only had a barking meter to go off when politicians lied. it would make things much more simple. ...and view more videos on our website at:

Cool Lights in Zhengzhou, Henan Province China - 2/12/12
We saw these lights on a street in Zhengzhou, Henan, China when we were there to adopt our son. We'd never seen anything like them before. Now they are starting to appear in the US.
MiaoMiao first video from Bonnie in China while we were waiting in USA
While we were waiting to bring our daughter home, another Family who we met through a yahoo group, of families, all adopting children from Henan, China. They had gone to China to get their daughter from the same orphanage. They were kind enough to take this little video of her, and the orphanage was gracious enough to let them. The only photos we had before this, were of Hannah (MiaoMiao) from almost 3 years before, nothing recent, we had no idea what she looked like now. I was traveling for business, & asleep in my hotel room, when the phone rang. Thinking it was a wake up call, I grogily answered. It was another friend from this same group, Monica. She was so excited, Did you see it, did you see it? she says. S: See what? M: Bonnie sent pictures of our children, you have to get on the computer, there's a video of Miao Miao. I'm fumbling to boot up (good thing I fell asleep w/ my laptop next to me). It was a moment I will never forget. I opened the pictures and started to cry. Monica was so cute, Look at her, I can't stop crying. The two of us were on the phone, looking at pictures from halfway around the world, together, like we were looking into the window of the newborn unit at the hospital. Sharing the moment. Then she e-mailed me the pictures Bonnie sent her of her son & we did it all over again. I will never forget the incredible gift Bonnie & Dave sent us, nor will I forget the Joy of sharing the moment with Monica, another waiting Mom, that understood how emotional and joyful seeing those pictures was.

Henan
Henan (Chinese: 河南; pinyin: Hénán; Wade–Giles: Ho-nan) is a province of the People's Republic of China, located in the central part of the country. Its one-character abbreviation is 豫 (yù), named after Yuzhou (豫州; Yùzhōu), a Han Dynasty state (zhou) that included parts of Henan. Although the name of the province (河南) means south of the river, approximately a quarter of the province lies north of the Yellow River, also known as the Huang He.
Henan is often referred to as Zhongyuan or Zhongzhou (中州) which literally means central plains or midland, although the name is also applied to the entirety of China proper. Henan is the birthplace of Chinese civilization with over 5,000 years of history, and remained China's cultural, economical, and political center until approximately 1,000 years ago. Numerous heritages have been left behind including the ruins of Shang Dynasty capital city Yin and the Shaolin Temple. Four of the Eight Great Ancient Capitals of China, Luoyang, Anyang, Kaifeng, and Zhengzhou are located in Henan.

The ‘Spa Club’ experience... VLOG! I’m sure this 24hr day spa idea isn’t unique to just China, but it was a first for me. They were all around in Guangzhou. You basically pay the price for a massage, but that gets you 24hours access to the whole facility like pool, sauna, lounge, buffet, and even cinema lounge! Just search ‘Spa Club’ and read to reviews to see what’s included & prices. This place was called No.9 Spa Club – Google it and go! :) And after reading more reviews it seems to be one of the top ones:)
Wondering about the Happy ending? That's not what this place is about, it's a professional and family place. Not a secret brothel or something haha. But it's no secret that any massage can end happy at pretty much any Asian massage place around the world.. there are other youtube channels if you are confused.
