If you ever find yourself in Hiratsuka in Kanagawa-ken in Japan, then the Jinya Hotel is among my recommended traditional Japanese onsen hotels in the area. It is a little expensive, but well worth it. Dinner and the onsen baths are included in the price. And the gardens are absolutely beautiful. I had a great night there with my kids, especially since there was unlimited fish food for the fish in the ponds there.
