Private gramophone collection in China's Dalian goes public
Listening to music at home in the age of gramophones was almost completely exclusive to the powerful and well-off. When Thomas Edison invented the gramophone in 1877, the device immediately became a sensation. However, the machine was never commercially produced on a large scale. CCTVNEWS takes a trip back in time and visits a museum of gramophones in Dalian.

Independence activist An Jung-geun's last wish before he was executed for assassinating once Japanese Resident-General of Korea Hirobumi Ito was to have his remains buried in his fatherland after Korea regains its sovereignty. However, the inter-Korean efforts to recover his remains have failed to yield any result, because China's cooperation is essential in finding his remains.

Independence activist An Jung-geun's trial was held in 1910 at the Lushun Japanese Guandong Court in China. After six hearings, he was sentenced to death. He then received a letter from his mother and gave up on an appeal.
[Soundbite] Jeong Chun-mae(Deputy Dir. Museum of Lushun Japanese Guandong Court) : The letter said if you appeal, it's like begging the Imperial Japan for your life, so die bravely for Korea.
He was incarcerated in Lushun Prison nearby before being executed on March 26th of that year. His last words were to have his remains buried in Korea after the country regained its sovereignty, but the Imperial Japanese regime refused to hand over his body to his family.

The Lushun Prison cemetery was designated a protected cultural property in 2001. It is one of the most likeliest places where An's remains were buried. In 2008 the South Korean government attempted to recover his remains from a mountain behind the prison with China's cooperation, but failed to find anything. Chinese authorities have realized the need for the joint inter-Korean effort to discover the patriot's remains, but recently improved relations between China and Japan may affect the inter-Korean recovery project.

资料图：安重根义士纪念馆（图源：中新社）据韩联社报道，韩国抗日义士安重根108周年祭26日在大连旅顺日俄监狱旧址博物馆内安重根纪念馆举行。韩国国家报勋处报勋礼遇局长代表韩国政府出席，代读国家报勋处长皮宇镇的悼词。皮宇镇表示，安重根在哈尔滨火车站击毙日本侵夺韩国独立主权的元凶伊藤博文是崇高的义举，安义士在狱中坚持斗争撰写《东洋和平论》为祖国独立乃至世界和平指明正确方向。韩中亲善协会和旅华韩人韩侨团体每年于安重根逝世纪念日在就义地缅怀其爱国主义精神和东洋和平思想，2015-2016年该活动升格为韩国国家报勋处主办的政府活动。报道称，考虑到驻韩美军部署“萨德”反导系统导致反韩情绪发酵，2017年重新以民间活动形式举行。据韩侨团体方面透露，韩方原计划派驻华大使出席今年的祭奠活动，但在内部讨论和与中方协调的过程中，决定改派报勋处代表团出席，经历“萨德”矛盾的中韩关系要完全解冻尚需时日。祭奠活动按照默哀、朗读略传、宣读遗言、唱祭歌、献花、参观刑场和纪念馆等顺序进行。安重根于1879年生于黄海道海州(朝韩停战线以北)，1909年10月26日在哈尔滨站诛杀伊藤博文，被关押于旅顺监狱5个月后，1910年3月26日被日本处以死刑。

Harbin (Manchu: Harbin; Chinese: 哈尔滨 Hā'ěrbīn) is the capital of Heilongjiang province, and largest city in the northeastern region of the People's Republic of China. Holding sub-provincial administrative status, Harbin has direct jurisdiction over nine metropolitan districts, two county-level cities and seven counties. Harbin is the eighth most populous Chinese city according to the 2010 census, the built-up area (which consists of all districts except Shuangcheng and Acheng) had 5,282,093 inhabitants, while the total population of the sub-provincial city was up to 10,635,971. Harbin serves as a key political, economic, scientific, cultural, and communications hub in Northeast China, as well as an important industrial base of the nation.Harbin, whose name was originally a Manchu word meaning a place for drying fishing nets, grew from a small rural settlement on the Songhua River to become one of the largest cities in Northeast China. Founded in 1898 with the coming of the Chinese Eastern Railway, the city first prospered as a region inhabited by an overwhelming majority of the immigrants from the Russian Empire.Having the most bitterly cold winters among major Chinese cities, Harbin is heralded as the Ice City for its well-known winter tourism and recreations. Harbin is notable for its beautiful ice sculpture festival in the winter. Pain In The Foot: Student Impaled By Fence Spike

This young man impaled his foot on a spiky fence when trying to climb over it one day.
The man from Dalian City’s Lushunkou District, in north-eastern China’s Liaoning Province, is said to be a local university student who had planned to scale the fence in order to take a shortcut home.
However, after eyeing the metal barrier and believing that he could easily climb to the other side, things took a painful twist when he planted his foot in the gap between two bars - and right onto the long and protruding spike.
The sharp object, which the authorities said measured around 12 centimetres (4.72 inches) in length, seemed to have been installed precisely to deter climbers.
And after impaling the sole of the man’s right foot, it travelled the entire length and exited through the top.
Shocking footage from his rescue shows firefighters asking him not to move as they find a way to save him.
They feared moving would cause the thick spike to tear further into his foot, which could only hang on the fence while he tried to balance the rest of his body.
Rescuers finally managed to shear off the base of the metal spike and carried him onto a stretcher with the metal still in his right foot.
They took him a local hospital where surgeons successfully removed the spike during an operation.
