Lyrics:
Come Back July
Sing like a bird in the backyard
Drink in the day’s lazy end
Tear up the calendar
I never want to come in
Shaking my shoes out the car door
There’s sand in the tobacco field
Let’s drive to the water again
Let the burning heal
Come back July
I never said goodbye
She falls in love every morning
Safe in the arms of The One
But every night
It gets harder to keep him at home
Sure as the gun in the sideboard
Sure as the chill from the window
Reminds me you’re gone
Come back July
I never said goodbye
You need to kiss me one more time
I want you to make me cry
Come back July
I never said goodbye
Light all those
Lonely Roman candles
Into that August sky
Come back July
Shoot out the lights at the state fair
You can keep all the colors of autumn
I’m over and gone
Come back July
I never said goodbye
You need to kiss me
One more time
I want you to make me cry
Come back July
I never said goodbye
I want to dance so fast
I fall down
Before that
August light
Come back July
Come back July
Come back July
Come back

Pamela Means James Madison
Pamela Means performs her song James Madison at Luthier's Co-op in Easthampton, MA. March 7, 2015
Song lyrics:
James Madison
by Pamela Means
(The chorus is a James Madison quote)
Founding fathers free spirit men
Some grew hemp on their plantations
All had slaves but they didn't free 'em
All had slaves and some fucked 'em
Jimmy James Madison
Didn't give two shits about anyone
Polk's Manifest Destiny
Didn't work out for the Cherokee
The purpose of the government
is to protect the minority of the opulent
from the majority
Two party system
Seems like one
Gold at the top
And the rest on the rickety rackety rungs
We got the money, we got the guns
We got greed and idiocy
An embarrassment to everyone
With any sense of decency
The purpose of the government
is to protect the minority of the opulent
from the majority
Prying perverts police populations
Prisons populate
Prophets/Profits, predictions
Politicians salivate
Ellsberg, Manning, Snowden, Davis
Heroes and dissidents
We all could use a daily dose
Of civil disobedience
We all could use a daily dose
Of civil disobedience
The purpose of the government
is to protect the minority of the opulent
from the majority

Matthew Larsen & the Documents LIVE @ the Apollo Grill 05-28-11
Matthew Larsen & the Documents held their CD Release Party at The Apollo Grill in Easthampton on 05-28-11.
About the band:
Massachusetts piano-based musician Matthew Larsen underwent a stem cell transplant at Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston in December of 2005. Much of that experience is is reflected in the lush piano-driven indie rock songs on Apheresis, Matthew Larsen and The Documents' forthcoming full-length record. Lovingly recorded in studios, hallways, apartments and houses by David Chalfant (The Nields), an incredible cast of musicians have put their stamp on the record: Greg Saulmon (King Radio, The Brass), Steve Biegner (Smokejumpers), David Chalfant (The Nields), Mark Schwaber (Lloyd Cole and the Small Ensemble), Aric Bieganek and Rebekah Dutkiewicz (Oweihops, Northernly), Ethan Tufts (State Shirt), Julia Suriano (Steve Biegner), Matthew Loiacano (Matthew Carefully, Kamikaze Hearts), and Philip Price (Winterpills).
Recording the record was made possible by The Andrea Coller Memorial Award, presented to Matthew by Andrea Coller's family members and The SAMFund, an organization that assists cancer survivors with the transition to post-treatment life. Andrea Coller was a fellow Massachusetts musician and comrade who lost her battle with cancer in 2008.
Matthew organizes a traveling house concert series called Dark Dining Room, which aims to raise money for cancer related organizations while offering fellow musicians and fans a chance to hear live performances in an intimate setting.

Lyrics
Me and my baby
My baby and me
Going to see what there is to see
We could be lazy
Lazy and free
Floating around
From tree to tree
Well we made our life in the city
But our heart lives down the road
There's a light from the kitchen window
But there's nobody
Nobody home
Cats in the doorway
Persian breed
Waiting to see what there is to see
Mail on the table
None for me
One more day
That I am free
Well we made our life in the city
But our heart lives down the road
There's a light from the kitchen window
But there's nobody
There's nobody home
It's okay I've had my turn at last
It's okay I've had my turn at long last
It's okay I've had my turn at long last
Maybe you'll see me tomorrow
And we can try it again
Maybe you'll see me tomorrow
And we can try to be friends
Well we made our life in the city
But our heart lives down the road
There's a light from the kitchen window
But there's nobody
There's nobody home
There’s nobody
Nobody home
(Me and my baby)
There’s nobody
Nobody home
(My baby and me)
There’s nobody
Nobody home
(Going to see what there is to see)
There’s nobody
