POOP COFFEE UBUD LUWAK KOPI | Civet Cat Bali | Indonesia Vlog 137, 2018
Kopi Luwak or Poop Civet cat coffee is really popular in Bali and Indonesia. We found some poop coffee in Ubud to taste...⬇ Click 'Show More' ⬇
Kopi luwak is the local Bali or Indonesia name, but it's basically a coffee that comes from poop from a civet cat! It's sort of crazy. The Luwak eats the coffee and poops it out, cleaned up and roasted the beans are turned into the local kopi.
Surprisingly the poop coffee is actually delicious! It's known as being the most expensive coffee in the world, and was definitely the most expensive cup we had at 100k IDR / $7 USD! Especially from a cat.

Kopi Luwak | Bali | Civet Cat POOP Coffee | World's Most Expensive Coffee | Indonesia
পৃথিৱীৰ আতাইতকৈ দামী কফি Kopi Luwak or Civet Coffee is a coffee is prepared from coffee beans. Luwak coffee is very much popular in Bali Indonesia. The coffee beans are eaten and defecated by the Asian palm Civet or Luwak in Indonesia. When the coffee beans or cherries passes through the animal's digestive tract intestines, fermentation occurs. Indonesian word Kopi means coffee. Luwak is local name of Asian palm civet in Sumatra, Indonesia.
Kopi Luwak or Civet Coffee or Weasel coffee is the most expensive coffee in the world. Its retail price is US$ 1000 per kilogram. Weasel coffee is mainly called in Vietnam. One cup Kopi Luwak cost my rise to US$ 35-70.
Earlier Kopi Luwak or Weasel coffee was traditionally made from the wild civets poop. as the Luwak coffee demand increases, civets are captured from the wild and kept them in battery cage systems and fed coffee beans for mass production. Of course now a days it is a big concern.
Kopi Luwak or Weasel coffee is produced in the Indonesian islands of Sumatra, Java, Bali and in East Timor. It is also widely found in Philippines.
The Dutch prohibited the native farmers and plantation workers from picking coffee fruits for their own use in Indonesia. But the local farmers wanted to have a taste. In time, the natives found that certain species of musang or luwak consumed the coffee fruits, left the coffee seeds undigested in their droppings. The natives collected these luwak coffee seed droppings, then cleaned, roasted and ground them to make their own coffee beverage. This is how the fame of aromatic civet coffee spred from locals to all around the world because of its rarity and unusual process.
We went to animal poop coffee plantation site - House of Coffee, Lumbung Sari, Jalan Raya, Uluwatu, Pecatu Bali Indonesia. Here i try to show how Luwak coffee is made, how to make luwak coffee, how to make animal poop coffee, what is the luwak coffee preparation, where the luwak coffee founds, what is the cost of luwak coffee, how much cost of luwak coffee. বলক চাও জুইৰ খেল জুইৰ লগত খেলা.

LUWAK COFFEE | KOPI LUWAK | POOP COFFEE UBUD LUWAK KOPI AT BALI
The origin of kopi luwak is closely connected with the history of coffee production in Indonesia. In the early 18th century the Dutch established the cash-crop coffee plantations in their colony in the Dutch East Indies islands of Java and Sumatra, including Arabica coffee introduced from Yemen. During the era of Cultuurstelsel (1830–70), the Dutch prohibited the native farmers and plantation workers from picking coffee fruits for their own use. Still, the native farmers wanted to have a taste of the famed coffee beverage. Soon, the natives learned that certain species of musang or luwak (Asian palm civet) consumed the coffee fruits, yet they left the coffee seeds undigested in their droppings. The natives collected these luwaks' coffee seed droppings, then cleaned, roasted and ground them to make their own coffee beverage.[6] The fame of aromatic civet coffee spread from locals to Dutch plantation owners and soon became their favorite, yet because of its rarity and unusual process, the civet coffee was expensive even during the colonial era [WIKIPEDIA]

Flashpacker Tries Luwak Coffee
Flashpacker Collette Simmons travels to Bali to try the exotic, rare and kind of creepy sounding Kopi Luwak. Luwak coffee, a delicacy in many places, is made from post digested coffee beans eaten by a certain type of ferret-like animal. Simmons visits a plantation where you can see the whole process unfold, from coffee tree to curious brew.
Kopi Luwak (Luwak Coffee) | Most Expensive Coffee | Bali
This is my experience of tasting Kopi Luwak or the Luwak Coffee - the most expensive coffee in the world. During my Bali travel, visiting kopi luwak farm was in my checklist as I have read about it from many blogs and posts. There are many Luwak coffee farms around Bali. I visited one on our way to Ubud. Beside the coffee, they also produce some spices like ginger, cardamom, special hot chili and many more.
What makes luwak coffee so special and unique is the innate biological process that takes place to process the coffee beans. The luwak eats the coffee cherries. The internal biological system of luwak can’t digest the coffee beans. But processed them naturally inside the stomach. So at the morning when they poo, the beans come out with it. Then the coffee beans are collected, washed properly, dried, skins are peeled off and then roasted to perfection. After roasting, the beans are grinded manually and filtered! Finally you’ll get the fresh Kopi Luwak!I
In these farms they offer you different flavored coffee and tea to taste for free. You’ll have ginger tea, turmeric tea, coconut tea and coconut coffee, peanut coffee, vanilla coffee, ginseng coffee and many more. But if you want to taste a cup of fresh kopi luwak, you have to pay. It was IDR 50.000.
The most unique part is the process of making luwak coffee. The device which is used is able to extract coffee that you are given the container of cold water.
First they ignited the lamp to begin the process of boiling the water. As the water begins to heat up, it would evaporate to a still condenser and then cascade over the grinds in a very gradual method. You have to allow the process happen for anywhere between five to seven minutes to extract the maximum coffee flavor. In about a few seconds upon processing inside the grind, the vacuum action takes place. After a while, the coffee rushes down quickly out of the brewing vessel in into the dispensing vessel. A unique thing happens as the other jar has more weight than the empty water vessel, it automatically shifts its position away from the lamp.
Enjoy this one & stay tuned for my next travel videos!

Bali Kopi Luwak Coffee | Indonesian Coffee
When traveling to Indonesia, and Bali in specific it’s a must to try Kopi Luwak coffee at least once.
Bali Kopi Luwak Coffee, WHAT IS KOPI LUWAK?
Kopi is the Indonesian word for coffee and Luwak is the local name of the Asian palm civet in Sumatra. Kopi Luwak is the coffee that has been digested by an Asian palm civet. The civet eats the coffee cherries, the cherries go through the digestive track and fermentation occurs, and then they pass through the intestines and eventually pooped out. The coffee cherries are then picked out from poop aka poop coffee.
WHERE DOES KOPI LUWAK COFFEE ORIGINATE?
Kopi luwak came about in the 18th century in the Dutch East Indie islands of Java and Sumatra in Indonesia. Nowadays it’s mainly produced on the Indonesian islands of Sumatra, Java, Bali, and Sulawesi. The Philippines, East Timor, and Vietnam are also making similar versions of poop coffee.
WHERE CAN YOU GET KOPI LUWAK COFFEE?
The best way to purchase authentic kopi luwak coffee is to go to Indonesia and make a vacation out of it. It’s one of the tastiest things to do in Bali. Learn about the coffee’s process, sample a cup of poop coffee.
HOW MUCH DOES KOPI LUWAK AKA POOP COFFEE COST?
Kopi luwak is one of the most expensive coffees in the world with a retail price as high as $700 per kilo. However, farmed Kopi luwak coffee (low grade) can be purchased in Indonesia at large grocery stores for about $100 kilo. Genuine kopi luwak from actual wild civets is insanely hard to purchase and hard to prove if the poop coffee is real or fake.
WHAT DOES POOP COFFEE / KOPI LUWAK TASTE LIKE?
The thought of an animal eating the coffee cherry, pooping it out, cleaning the coffee bean, and roasting it may sound a bit strange. What on earth could it taste like? The result of all this work is a very flavorful almost fruity coffee that has very little bitterness. During the digestive process the beans altered and it yields a much less bitter cup.
