Perth to Broome Road Trip | Western Australia Travel Guide
WE ARE BACK home in Perth and we are off on a Western Australia road trip so we can finally show you all why our home state is one of the most beautiful places to travel in all of Australia!!
In our first episode we sand board in Lancelin, got lost in the Pinnacles before journeying onto Jurien Bay and passing onto Kalbarri for the night. We woke up bright an early to abseil in Kalbarri National Park, poked our head through Nature's Window and finally saw the dolphins at Monkey Mia, got WAY TOO excited over shell beach before ending our day in Coral Bay...*takes a breath* what a crazy first few days on our Perth to Broome road trip.

Australian Outback Tour - Australia Vacations & Tours
Come and join your Small Group Outback Australia Tour to explore the most profound and culturally significant monolith in Australia.
Evening Tour:
Departing the resort the tour will travel thorough the landscapes to the entrance of the Uluru Kata Tjuta National Park. From this point it is only a matter of minutes before the spectra of Uluru rises from the sand dunes to demonstrate its enormity and presence in this country .
Our first step allows you a photographic opportunity of this amazing icon. With Uluru loomin in front of you, your guide journey toward the base. Walk with your guide to a place of tranquility.
The closer you wander the more you surrender to the realisation of the sheer size of this monolith.
As you drive around the base, your guide will take you to the entrance of Mutitjulu Waterhole, a semi-permanent watercourse nestled in the contours of Uluru. Here you will learn the Creation stories of Liru (poisonous snake) and Kuniya (python) as well as a number of other stories associated with other prominent Tjukurpa (Dreaming) stories. You will see the rock art of the ancients and learn how Uluru was, and still is, a significant location for teaching young Aboriginal people. We then adjourn to the new Talinguru Nyakunytjaku viewing area where you will observe an uninterrupted view of Uluru with Kata Tjuta in the background. Your guide will then return to your accommodation at Ayers Rock Resort.
Morning Tour
Revel in the early morning serenity of a truly spiritual place as the sunrise colours change on Kata Tjuta.
Departing the resort the tour will travel through the landscape to the entrance of Uluru Kata Tjuta National Park. From there is it a 40km journey through the desert landscape to the mighty rock formation.
On arrival at the viewing area you walk to the best vantage point to see the 36 domes that comprise this spiritual place while watching the sun's morning glow as the desert comes alive.
We make our way to the western side of Kata Tjuta where you will have the opportunity to relax and enjoy an outback picnic breakfast.
As you approach the entrance to Walpa Gorge, named for the wind (Walpa) that whistles between the massive domes that shape Kata Tjuta, the result of eons of weathering and continual upheaval, your guide will share the significance of this men's sacred ceremonial site.
We take a stroll between these mighty conglomerate rock walls as your guide explains how the environment and the geology has evolved over millions of years.
Your guide will return to your accommodation at Ayers Rock Resort
Includes:
2 X 5 hour fully guided tour
Sunrise at Kata Tjuta
Sunset at Uluru
Outback Picnic Breakfast
Sparkling Wine and gourmet treats

Subaru Outback 2.5I Premium Drive into Spring Sydney to Byron Bay - Rob Fraser Reviews
We take a Subaru Outback 2.5i Premium AWD SUV on a spring drive from Sydney to Byron Bay and back.
Along the way we explore a number of seaside villages such as Port Stephens, Nelson Bay, Stockton Beach, Seal Rocks, Foster, Smiths Lake, Blueys Beach, Tuncurry, Coffs Harbour, Ballina, Byron Bay, Hat Head, Port Macquarie.
The Subaru Outback is ideally suited to the function of a famliy long distance touring vehicle, with enough performance combined with Symetrical permanent AWD and X Mode ensuring a safe drive no matter what the conditions.
On the drive we encountered lots of unspring like weather, torrential rain, hail storms and snippets of sunshine. The Subaru handled it all with ease.
With adequate room for five occupants, plenty of usable luggage space and a heap of comfort and luxury features, like heated front seats, electrically adjustable seats with additional lumbar support, SI Drive, Apple Car Play and Android Auto, advanced infotainment and connectivity, auto directional LED headlights and auto wipers and much more.
Overall the Subaru Outback provided a relaxed and comfortable drive allowing us to arrive feeling refreshed no matter the driving conditions.

Subaru Symmetrical All Wheel Drive system
So what are the key highlights from our trip?
A week wasn’t long enough!
It’s better to pay a little more for better accommodation.
Byron Bay, while it has changed, is still an essential destination to visit.
There are a large number of quaint and interesting seaside villages along the East coast on NSW that are worthy of a visit and longer stay.
As we spent a long time in the car we were thankful for the Subaru Outback as it was so comfortable and relaxed to drive.
Highway cruising was a breeze, dirt road excursions likewise.
There was plenty of room for two and even four in the Outback and its full of comfort features that you would expect to pay many thousands of dollars more for.
Overall fuel economy was about 8.1L/100km which is pretty good considering the mix of driving and the torrential rain conditions.
Permanent AWD such as the Subaru Symmetrical system is an essential safety feature of a car.

The Outback is the remote arid areas of Australia, although the term colloquially can refer to any lands outside of the main urban areas. The term the outback is generally used to refer to locations that are comparatively more remote than those areas deemed the bush.
The outback is home to the Australian feral camel, donkey and dingo. The Dingo fence was built to restrict dingo movements into agricultural areas towards the south east of the continent. The marginally fertile parts are primarily utilised as rangelands and have been traditionally used for sheep or cattle grazing, on cattle stations which are leased from the Federal Government. While small areas of the outback consist of clay soils the majority has exceedingly infertile palaeosols. Riversleigh, in Queensland, is one of Australia's most renowned fossil sites and was recorded as a World Heritage site in 1994. The 100 km² area contains fossil remains of ancient mammals, birds and reptiles of Oligocene and Miocene age.
Early European exploration of inland Australia was sporadic. More focus was on the more accessible and fertile coastal areas. The first party to successfully cross the Blue Mountains just outside Sydney was led by Gregory Blaxland in 1813, 25 years after the colony was established. People starting with John Oxley in 1817, 1818 and 1821, followed by Charles Sturt in 1829-1830 attempted to follow the westward-flowing rivers to find an inland sea, but these were found to all flow into the Murray River and Darling River which turn south.
Over the period 1858 to 1861, John McDouall Stuart led six expeditions north from Adelaide into the outback, culminating in successfully reaching the north coast of Australia and returning, without the loss of any of the party's members' lives. This contrasts with the ill-fated Burke and Wills expedition in 1860-61 which was much better funded, but resulted in the deaths of three of the four members of the transcontinental party.
The Overland Telegraph line was constructed in the 1870s along the route identified by Stuart, who had found enough water to support the needed repeater stations.
Exploration of the outback continued in the 1950s when Len Beadell explored, surveyed and built many roads in support of the nuclear weapons tests at Emu Field and Maralinga and rocket testing on the Woomera Prohibited Area. Mineral exploration continues as new mineral deposits are identified and developed.

Camping in Karijini National Park | Most Beautiful Place in Australia
Kairijini National Park has a been a spot we haven't wanted to explore for so long. Every person we come across who has explored this park hands down claims it to be the most beautiful spot in Australia...too bad we had a patch of terrible weather.
After exploring Karijini National Park we make our exit with a quick stop at the Pardoo Roadhouse before arriving in Broome...4700km later.
