Lydd International Kart Club - Summer Championship Final Round
Sunday October 13th 2019 saw the final round of the Lydd International Kart Club Summer Championship.
The final round had everything, changeable weather conditions, crashes, close racing.. you name it!
The excitement started early, with everyone asking the question which tyres do we use?! as the track was greasy with rain threatening at any moment.
Despite the somewhat miserable English weather, it gave us some close racing for the crowds to enjoy.
Now that the summer is well and truly over, its time to turn our attention to the first round of the Winter championship (MSUK permit events).

UK Kart track experience Ep.1 - Lydd Kart Circuit
First video of my kart track experience in UK, here I was at the Lydd Kart Circuit on Biz kart powered by twin Honda 160cc engine
Karting at Lydd Circuit UK
Me and Nick, first time at Lydd on the twin engine 160cc karts. Alot faster than the karts we've previously used at Filching Manor and Teamsport, and alot more fun! Will definately be planning a trip back there. Sun was shining, the drive there was superb, which all made for a great day out. This was filmed on a GoPro HD 1080 attached to my helmet, solid piece of kit. I recorded this session using the 720p 60 fps setting.

My 1st attempt at the Lydd circuit and 1st attempt on my powerhawk prokart.
Hitting 51s 52s consistently but a lot of improvement required, especially on the second chicane.

This weekends racing was defiantly the most fun i've had since i've been karting, it was good, fast, clean racing throughout the day and I ended up finishing 3rd in the final which I was really pleased with.

Suddenly I changed my plans. Instead of planed event, I went to Lydd circuit where was happening IKR championship. I thought that I know already everything about karts, but I was pleasantly surprised when I saw such types of engines as: 250 cc 4 stroke engine and Subaru 4 stroke engine.
Also I've been amazed with circuit and its Pit Lane. New workshop and Big kart storage pavilion. Huge paddock and resurfaced track layout.
And filming there was only pleasure, as everyone shared their experiences and knowledge about Lydd Kart Circuit.

Club 100 Sprint Lydd - LW Heat 2 (Race 1)
Another Club 100 Sprint day and another new circuit to learn, this time at Lydd. Man, Lydd is such a fast circuit in the dry, properly physical! During my first heat of the day I was still learning the track as my test earlier in the morning had been in wet conditions, but strangely I put in my fastest lap of the day in this heat. It's also the first time I've really noticed the difference in engine performance in the Club 100 karts - to be fair the difference is usually pretty insignificant, but on the long straight at Lydd it can make the difference between gaining or losing places. Happy with how this heat went considering how many Class 1 drivers were in it, felt like a solid start to the day.
