An Afternoon in Lyttelton | New Zealand [VLOG 35]
Lyttelton is a port town on the north shore of Lyttelton Harbour, at the north-western end of Banks Peninsula and close to Christchurch, on the eastern coast of the South Island of New Zealand.
This is one of Mums favorite places in Canterbury, and its a must visit place every time she comes to Christchurch. Its a tiny little town but the largest port in the South Island. (2018)
It reminds me of a miniature Wellington :) :)

Lyttelton Farmer's Market: Lyttelton New Zealand
Lyttelton looks like a fishing village out of late 1800s England.
That makes perfect sense, when you learn that Lyttelton, like much of New Zealand, was settled by many English people during that time period.
The Saturday Morning Lyttelton Farmers Market is really a farmers market, primarily featuring organic produce grown here in New Zealand.
The Lyttelton Farmers Market is on Saturday mornings from 8AM -1 PM. If youre in the Christchurch area, Lyttelton and the Farmers Market are definitely worth a visit.

First Episode of the Low budget movie series. I hope you enjoy because we had so much fun doing this.
Tucked close against the southern shore of Whakaraupō (Lyttelton Harbour), the small island of Ripapa was an ideal site for a fortified pa for Ngāi Tahu and later, a fortress to defend against possible Russian attacks.
Historic conservation
Ripapa Island is registered Category 1 by the New Zealand Historic Places Trust and an historic reserve. It has been given an actively managed status by the Department of Conservation.
A concept plan for the island approved by the Historic Places Trust outlines policies for the fort’s continued protection and preservation.
The Department has been progressively repairing the deterioration in the fort's condition which has happened over the past 100 years, including damage from the earthquakes of 2011.
Getting there
The island is only accessible by boat. It is located on the southern shores of Lyttelton Harbour (Whakaraupō), near Christchurch.

Lyttelton (Maori: Ohinehou) is a port town on the north shore of Lyttelton Harbour, at the northwestern end of Banks Peninsula and close to Christchurch, on the eastern coast of the South Island of New Zealand.
Due to its establishment as a landing point for Christchurch-bound seafarers, Lyttelton has historically been regarded as the Gateway to Canterbury for colonial settlers.
